Do You Have a Dream or a Wish

We just got back from attending a wedding. While there, we heard some amazing vows and had a lot of fun with dancing, cake, good food and just the entire experience. Also, while there, I had my phone off most of the time... except when I went out to vape.

I did get some good videos from my phone and once again, while on my phone, I would check up on new blogs emailed to me from WA. I read a good blog about a classic car someone is putting time and effort into and has been told over and over that it's not worth it. I also read about getting out of your comfort zone and how the car wouldn't reverse for a year and that being the case, adjustments had to be made.

...

Sometimes, for fun, I'll even look up reviews of different things on YouTube just to see what people are talking about. I can learn something new from a comment or get a completely different perspective on things.

Something I've found quite annoying for a long time is the ads I see on YouTube all the time now... all about "clicking here" to learn how to make x amount of dollars a day. Really? C'mon! Give it a break!

And, that used to be me, kind of.

No, I never made ads like that trying to convince people about to watch a video, to want to click on an ad to show them how to make money on the internet. It used to be me because I always loved the idea of making money online and though, "some day."

I would listen to stories and hours of podcasts about things and even read books. Watch videos and more. It's interesting and it can sure make you start to think of just how great it would be.

Well, would it be, to you?

Maybe. Maybe not.

If you're just wishing you could make a ton of money, then you more or less just like the idea behind it. You're most likely not ready to budget expenses and income. Balance a bank account. Put in hours and hours of work each day (or most days) to write content, connect with real people, add real value in the market place, learn, study, build relationships, find out what people struggle with and come up with solutions (not for the buck but for the value) and therefore earn something from your labor.

This isn't a job. This isn't getting rich quick. Besides, when you think about it, who would honestly want to get-rich-quick? And, even if you could, would you really appreciate it? I think not.

No...

I'm not a big gamer but I do have some that I enjoy every few months to jump into (told you I wasn't a gamer lol). How quickly would it get boring if everything was easy, there was no challenge, no looking forward to what's next, and you could beat the game just as quickly as you started playing it? You'd probably play it over and over until you were bored and then jump into another game.

Well, that's not business.

Heck, that's' not even a job, though it comes closer to a job mentality. And, the thing is, if you can hold a job for several years, you're building work ethic which will help a business you may build grow stronger.

I've made $17 on the internet in my whole life. It was on ClickBank. I wasn't dedicated and while I didn't believe in the way I made it (long story... though my blog here has that story) I realized that I wasn't ready. I only wished in a nice way what it would be like to make thousands or more and not have to ever work again.

It doesn't work that way though.

Sitting here at the computer I need to put the time in to each task and give it my all. Then learn from mistakes I make and obstacles I run into and keep pushing forward.

That's a job, too. And, it's business.

I'll hear some people say, "Well, you've not made any money yet so it must not work and must be a scam." Really? I have a live website. What more do you want? Do you think I'm going to start earning even a dollar overnight? Or do you think that I think that? No! It's not a job where I'll work for two weeks and come home on Friday night with a paycheck direct deposited in the bank, either.

And, of course, all of these people (with all due respect, really. No, really, I do mean with all due respect.) have regular jobs and have never even considered building a real business of any kind. Or, if they have, it's an offline business that seems more realistic.

The bottom line for me to come back to for inspiration and for anyone else reads this, is simple.

Obstacles are there to see if you're serious about wanting to build a real business that generates revenue and profits over the long-hall. You're either working to build your dream of in wish land where you don't really care what happens as long as you don't have to do any real work and can find a button to push.

Reality check - there are no buttons. None. If there were, you wouldn't know about them because whomever has access wouldn't share it and give way their "secret."

Wishing is just an idea until you actually dream big and put something in place. Write it out (I use WorkFlowy, personally) or at least put it in WA and then commit to doing something about it. If you never touch WA after joining, you're not ready. You don't believe it'll work - and it won't, for you. It obviously does for so many others - who are willing to work at it.

A job is something many want to escape from. Yet, unless a business is treated with even more dedication, it won't work. If you're not willing to sit down and dig into the details, nothing will happen. If you are willing to put forth the effort, amazing things could happen.

This is long hall success. Nothing less. Yes, may milestones will be achieved along the way. But, instead of wondering if you'll ever make money: get the website up. Get the first 100 articles written. Get the website organized into categories. Start gaining traffic. Build relationships with some people. Get out there and get to know people. Reply to comments. Reply to emails. Join networks and keep learning and keep working. Everything I've just said here is what is going to produce results. Nothing less.

If none of the long hall stuff is worth doing, then a wish is all you care about and you're just not ready. If all of this is something you want to take on and see how big and how awesome you can grow in order to help thousands with your niche and your knowledge, full speed ahead!

What do you think? Is the work and dedication worth it or is it just a waste of time?

In my opinion: if you're making progress it's because you're willing to work. If you're just sitting there (well, okay, we all sit most likely but you know what I mean lol ;)) you're just wasting time.
