New Year Countdown - My WA Goal
My how time fliest! The New Year Countdown has begun for our family!
We have taken the time to reflect upon the past year, and began mapping out our new adventures.
Resolutions
res·o·lu·tion
/ˌrezəˈlo͞oSH(ə)n/
noun
- 1.a firm decision to do or not to do something."She kept her resolution not to see Anne anymore"synonyms:intention, resolve, decision, intent, aim, plan; More
- 2.The action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter."The peaceful resolution of all disputes"synonyms:solution to, answer to, end to, ending to, settlement of, conclusion to"a satisfactory resolution of the problem"
In our home we do not make resolutions, we set goals, and work together to achieve those goals.
Far too often when making resolutions, they are made without careful thought and a detailed plan to follow through with them. In the end, nothing gets resolved. Then we find ourselves feeling guilty or shameful for not meeting our intended decisions.
Why Are Goals Better
goal /ɡōl/ noun plural noun: goals
1. (in football, soccer, rugby, hockey, and some other games) a pair of posts linked by a crossbar and often with a net attached behind it, forming a space into or over which the ball has to be sent in order to score.
2. The object of a person's ambition or effort; an aim or desired result. "Going to law school has become the most important goal in his life"
Number 2 is the important take away here, unless of course you're watching the big game!
The Object is obtained by a persons' ambition or effort! I really feel it ought to say " obtained by a persons' ambition AND effort" in order to reach your goals you need both equally.
If you apply both Ambition AND Effort, you will achieve your goal. Maybe not in the time frame of a year, however with patients and persistence you will achieve your goal!
My Goals This Year
I found my self sidetracked from WA back in October when the rush of school deadlines crept upon me.
This and my middle daughters health took a bit of an unexpected turn, she is OK! She has Epilepsy, the seizures for the most part had been well on their way of being controlled. That all took a turn when she had what we call a Tonic Clonic ( Full body) seizure at home. They have been occurring more frequently and this requires more medical appointments, and testing to be done. As well as med changes and daily logs, as well as parent teacher meetings.
Life as it does, got hectic and I found my self putting off coming to WA and working on my goals. A set back for sure, but not the end of the world.
The Plan
I have decided to set a goal of being more organized, and lessen my expectations of daily blog posts. Instead, I have chosen to roll with the punches, and attempt not less than 1 new post a week. And when life gets busy, I may have to reduce that to 1 new post a month.
The whole point is to not overwhelm my self and accept that success is only achieved by putting forth effort AND ambition. Ambition alone will not provide the success I plan on achieving. Yet if I overwhelm my self, I will lose ambition, Ah the good old flip side.
Instead of allowing the setbacks to leave me feeling less ambitious, I plan to allow my self to accept that some days I won't have the time or energy to create content. Sometimes life requires one to sit back and rest a little. And that's OK,because in the end I will achieve my goals, just a little slower than I so eagerly planned on.
The important thing to remember and remind myself of is that giving up is NOT the option or in the plan. Small baby steps, and when I am able LEAPS.
I hope that you are all doing very well, and have a Happy And Safe New Year!
May you achieve all of your goals you set forth, and always remember it's OK if those goals are not met by a certain date on a calendar!

Ever since one year someone told me that you have 3 written goals at the beginning of the year. One attainable goal, one possible goal, and one totally "shoot for the stars" goal. In December you will review the goals.
I was surprised because I had forgotten my goals and had achieved ALL 3!!
