I've really enjoyed learning photography in my first semester of the Digital Photography course!
I am learning so much, and really seeing huge improvements in my photographs.
Why Learn Photography?
I wanted to learn Photography for so many reasons, I grew up around, in front of and behind cameras. My Grandfather was always taking photographs, and my aunt always put together a family album for my Grandparents ever year. I was given my first camera when I was about 7 years old, and still have the photo's I took using film! Both of my parents have taken the course, and have become Photographers, as well as owning their very own studio.
I wanted to learn how to take better photos for my self personally, but also to improve the image and appearance of my blog. I wanted the photos used for my blog to be as unique, personal and interesting as my blog entries are.
Who Can Benefit From Photography?
EVERYONE! You don't need to take a course in order to learn photography, but it certainly helps!!!
Memories are cherished through a great photograph, art can be created and expressed, great photos of the items you're selling draw in the eye of the customer much better than a snap shot.
History has been captured through the lens of camera's for centuries!
Photography is not simply a hobby, it is an art and a lifestyle, a history preserver, inspiration, hope, beauty and so many other things!
What Have I Learned So Far?
To start, I've learned how to use my camera! I no longer shoot using auto, I can utilize all of my cameras many functions to capture the perfect image. No more wondering " What does this button do?!" I now know what that button does!
I've learned about lighting, and how to manipulate it to create mood, tone, proper exposure and how to light a subject in the best possible way to really show the story.
I've learned Depth Of Field, The Rule Of Thirds, How to place a subject in the most eye-catching and pleasing position in a photograph.
I've learned how to use Photoshop to edit and add flare to my photographs!
What Does Next Term Have In Store?
I will be learning video! I can not wait to learn this, as I really want to get our blogs YouTube channel up and running.
I feel that this is going to be one of the most valuable assets to running our business, and creating traffic to our site. I am thrilled for this course.
I'll also be learning different techniques for lighting, editing, styles of photography, how to create and run a business. Which, will be valuable to my training here at WA.
I Can See A Visible Difference
I think what I've loved most is watching my self grow visibly! My photos have drastically changed in just a few months, and this alone excites me.
