There isn't an easy way to add an external link to a Featured image - as Wordpress doesn't support it for some reason Unlike adding a link to a regular image in a post, which is no problem to do.
You'll find some workarounds that require a bit of playing around with php files eg: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-add-an-external-url-to-a-featured-image
