Got the needed kick in the rear

I've been finding so many "important" things to be doing instead of blogging.

Can't we all find time to read the blogs, watch the videos, chat, and whatever comes out way on this wonderful website instead of doing what we need to be doing.

I know I'm not the only one that falls prey to all the wonderful information here.

I believe I finally have Google Authorship set up, but the last time I posted that I did, everyone straightened me out. I really think I have it setup up correctly now.

I have placed me first youtube video in my blog. I think I did it correctly, please let me know if I didn't.

Please take a look and give me your feedback. I'm also working on setting up my mailing list at aweber, so if you could try to signup I'd appreciate it. I ran out of emails to use for testing.

Thanks for much for all your help. What a wonderful group of people!

I got the video off youtube. I thought it was great as well. I'm going to have to look deeper in his channel. Might find something really awesume.

Hi Brenda I love the video on the blog above. I'm going to remember this when getting things out of perspective!

1

Well we can never have the total picture. Something is always hidden. How many times have I had to apologize because I didn't see the whole picture.

It reminds me that the page (plugin, widget, config file) I'm loosing sleep over must not be allowed to overshadow the progress I have made.

I tend to get so focused on the problem and feeling frustrated and worthless and forget totally that I have a website. Not too long ago I didn't have a clue where to start, but not I have reached SUCCESS sot I'm not a failure.

It's all good.

Hey Brenda, Great post and fantastic video. Good for you. You're a lot further ahead than me so pat yourself on the back. All the best. Simon

1

Thank you. I'm not as far along as I should be for the time I've been with WA. I've just been being lazy.

Guess I just needed permission to pat myself on the back. I have made a lot of progress. Quit looking at far I need to go and realize how far I've come.

1

great video and i signed up to your list. I got the confirmation email and clicked on it, and received your first email.

Awesume!!!! Something worked. Now to figure out how to send to it. I'm thinking I should send every blog post???? Is that the way we start? Don't want to blast people and they unsubscribe, but i don't want them to think I forgot them either. Thanks for the help.

1

You could develop an enewsletter to send or even the starter program from here...that's what I've done for now until I get a newsletter developed or an ebook...whatever you do don't overwhelm yourself like I just did by writing all that..haha! Step by step...that's what I keep reminding myself

Hello Brenda! The video was eye-catching and interesting. Like you, I also experienced being scared but it's more of lacking self-confidence on launching my first website. My second one is a work in progress. You're in a right track and the only thing that I would suggest is removing the ads in the middle of your page. Keep up the good work and happy for you. Take care.

1

I agree completely with the ads in the middle. On my list to ask that question tomorrow from the community. I don't want to take them off completely. I have made a few dollars, but they may not be worth it.

Give yourself some love!

1

Thanks. I believe I will. I deserve it.

1

Good job, love the video (obviously it works)

2

Glad you liked the video. When I saw it, doors started opening. Maybe i should spend more time on yourtube. Who knows what other "gems" I might find.

Another one of those 'important' distractions :).

1

I think I can justify it now! Ha, any excuse that works!

1

Love it Brenda! You are doing great!

2

Thanks. I feel like I'm not progressing like I should, but we are all different and learn in different ways, right?

1

Nice Brenda. I liked the video.

2

Thanks. It is a pretty cool video, isn't it?

I really like your site and your newest blog post. It was like reading a book, but it left me wanting more information (this is a good thing.) I actually looked through your site to see if you continued some of your story about MS and your husband and mention of running to your Mom. Who doesn't love to run to their Mom? It's one of the first people I speed dial when I need to ;) Take this with a grain of salt but what about removing the ads in the middle of your posts? It would be easier to read. Also, do you know how to shorten your posts so that after a few sentences it says "read more?" This makes it easier for your readers to see all of your posts instead of scrolling through all of the articles to find titles they want to read. If you don't know how to do this, and you are interested in doing this, send me a PM, it's super easy ;)) Keep up your writing and good work. I like the blogging of your WA journey.

Thank you for the kind words. I've got so much built up in me, I'm scared to let it out but I know I need to. i can't move on until I do. A blog seems the safest way to do so.

I've told my sister more than once that the price I pay monthly at WA is the best investment I've ever made. No more visits to the shrink, education without student loans to pay back, possibility of making money while learning. What a deal.

As for the ads, that's an option with Adsense, isn't it? I thought the same thing when I did a preview of my page. YUCK!

Yes I would like the "more" option on my blog. Figured it was in a later lesson, but I will PM you.

1

In cases like yours, I truly believe that blogging can be therapeutic. I hope you are able to share your story and your journey-I think many people will be able to relate and will want to visit your site.

I'm not sure about Adsense and how that works, you may want to ask the community, I know that someone would know if and how to remove them from the center of your posts. ;)

1

I'l ask the community tomorrow. Don't want to start anything else that requires "real" thought processes. This is unwind time of the day. Brain cells are shutting down. Gotta love MS. You always have an excuse for ANY stupid thing you did or said.

1

Yes, true. I have MS too.

1

Then we can schedule a party to celebrate! I have to stay away from a lot of MS sufferers because they are so negative. I can't be around that. It will bring on a relapse and bring it on quickly. As I'm sure you know.

I am the same way. Most people don't even know about me. Actually, very very few people know-although everyone here on WA will now ;)

Sorry to let the cat out of the bag.
