how do we do research?

I keep reading and ppl say to do the research but no-one shows you how to do it, its like handing me the keys to a huge airplane and telling me to fly it, I have not a clue how to fly it and what all those controls mean? Know what I mean?
I think what im looking for is also like a checklist maybe? Is there anything anyone can recommend?

im looking for... what to do once you got your site up, i read and hear about all this "testing" and research that has been tested and i want to know what it is that im soppose to be testing, and how do we do it.
It's difficult to answer your question as I do not know at what stage you are with your site.
Once you have content built around your niche keyword/s, you need to generate traffic that will arrive at your website.The best advice that I can give, is for you to give the Bootcamp training a go. Although the niche is IM related the principles apply from the point of starting a site to getting it to convert into sales.
