My 2013 Goal List
Steve from IveTriedThat had a great guide on setting and keeping both short-term and long-term goals in sight when building one's own business. He then challenged his readers to follow in his stead and to create a long term goal list that is not only visible to ourselves, but also to the entire community here at Wealthy Affiliate.
With the challenge posed, I say 'Challenge Accepted!'
Just like Steve's list, mine includes both buisness related goals as well as some personal life goals. Feel free to give me some advice/helpful tips towards achieving any of these goals. Or if you would like to discuss the exact nature of the goals on my list, then ask away!
Wealthy Affiliate
1. Create my own niche website
2. Reach 100+ followers on facebook (for website)
3. Rise in rank at Wealthy Affiliate website (under 500)
4. Complete Entrepreneur Certification
5. Start and finish Affiliate Bootcamp training
6. Upload personal blogs to WA: goal of 10 total blogs
7. Receive pay from Online Marketing
My Personal Life
1. Get hitched
2. Maintain Part-Time job with University
3. Get a permanent third room-mate
4. Make enough money to buy a Playstation4 when it is released
5. Get out into the mountains more often; hike 3 weekends out of the year
6. Complete Bachelor’s Degree in Communications
7. Build my own desktop
8. Begin running the Noland Trail instead of fast-walking it
9. Get back into watching anime; watch Black Lagoon, Ghost Hound, Etc.
10. Quite Smoking

I love this!....Your personal goals are great.....here's my question or perhaps advice....if you want to get hitched as #1....take #3 off the list :)....think the movie "knocked up"
Haha very true. I was not considering how those two would overlap with each other. Thanks for the feedback! I guess the more short term goal would be to get a 3rd roomate to lower monthly rent costs, and the longer term goal would be to get 'hitched' (which, by my mistake, I mean to find a healthy relationship to be in; not to get married). The way I see it is that I will need more money on hand to be able to afford a healthy, loving relationship; and getting a 3rd roomate would definitely open up more money opportunities.
Love two of your goals :) getting back into anime, and saving up for a PS4! :) I' aiming for the same, wish you luck :D
I like a lot of your IRL goals but you`re setting the bar too low with WA. I`m rank 73 after less than a month just by being very active. I also have 40 followers on fb with very minimal effort. entrepreneur certification is not something you really "complete" IMO. Really, I could keep going but I just wanna say that you can do FAR more than this if you just put in some time every day!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Writing a purpose truly will ensure the achievement of the results I want. You bring up some really good points Chip. I have begun to realize that the goals I have set are more short-term oriented instead of long-term oriented. I am still getting my feet wet here at WA, so I assumed rising in rank and completing certification would take a considerable amount of time to achieve. It's great to know that I could rise in rank very quickly if I am to remain active.
However, I do want to say that I plan on keeping a Starter Membership for as long as it is prudent: I do not wish to become a premium member until it becomes absolutely necessary.
There is definitely a HUGE amount of pressure from everyone here at WA to go Premium, and for that fact alone I want to see how much I can truly achieve as just a Starter Member.
Thanks again for all the feedback, I will be sure to incorporate everyone's great ideas on reshaping and redefining the goals I have set in place for myself here at WA.
