I have a plugin I'd like to use but it doesn't seem to work. It up loaded and activated corectly.
We can choose whatever plugins we want however you do need to make sure it is compatible and its ok to work with the WA system
As long as it's a WP compatible plugin free or paid you can load with the zip file provided.
Cheers!
Hi Bill,
Yes you can, but some plugins may not be compatible with the theme you are using. Another issue if you are using hosting from SiteRubix is that they do not allow outside connections with the site.
An example of this is RSS. I have tried to use this without success and when I asked support was told that this is not allowed. If you are using a plug-in to update or rotate offers from Amazon or AliExpress for instance, it will not work...
If you find that you need to have this kind of capability depending on your niche, then you may want to consider using an outside host that does allow such external connections.
If this not so important (not allowing this does improve site security I think) then you will be OK with SiteRubix.
Best of luck!

Can we upload plugins not in the list?

I wrecked my site twice with incompatable plugins which claimed to be compatible, ever since I always test them on a test website Using malicious scripts can wreck your website, open a test site

I would like a footer for each of my web pages
Some themes has this build in already you can see what is there by going to appearance, select customize, then it will show you a menu that shows header, logo, site identity etc
Hi,You really need a theme that supports headers and footers.I have tried plugins for that but they don't work to good.
Hi there sir. I would suggest if you have a very specific question like this, instead of doing it in a blog you might want to consider asking help using the live chat. It's much efficient as people there are live and will reply fast.
You can blog it. But you only get 1 a day for a while. There might be better uses for your blog.
go to the white bar at the top or you dash board, where it says need help and you name and type in your question than a menu will drop down and just follow
At the very top I the left is the WA logo in the lack and white box then a big white bar which runs all the way a I g the to all the way to the strip lane and nice and your picture well that big white bar is the question bar and if you look closely or say need help and your name
But it is all in the training and you can always go to the training as I have done it three times over !!!

I want to write several articles and have them viewed from a widget menu. How is this done? Are the articles written as pages but can only be seen by the menu? Are they "posts"
Go to Appearance>>themes>>widgets
From there on drag the 'recent post' widgets into your sidebar widgets. It will create a recent post in the sidebar when you preview. And all of your post articles.
The same process through if you want all pages be seen in your side bar widgets.
Go to posts and write - check everything is correct hen hit preview and it you are happy them hit publish and it is live on your site
What I want to do is display the post from a menu. I don't want post just showing up on their own. maybe "posts" is the wrong word. That is why I used article. I may have 20-30 different written articles and want the user to select which one to read.
Bill, when you write a post, it will be listed by the title along your sidebar so the reader can click on any post title they like...if you write a page article it will appear as a menu item. I hope that helps
I just published two posts and they are nowhere in my sidebar or any place else. Buts that's OK. I know where the posts are (URL) and I can link them to my menu. I still can't get comments for my web pages, only for my posts. I've tried three two different plug ins to try and get footers for my pages and nothing works.
Hi there!
Actually there two types of widgets, recent posts widget which will display your recent articles, and there is also another widget called Pages widgets. This latter will display your pages on the widget area.
All you have to do is add a widget (recent posts) and click on save. Done!
I hope this helps,
Youba
Hello,
I would use posts and maybe in combination with the following plugin:

What's a good plugin to compress jpg and png files that are currently being used in your web page? Or is there one?
I use the EWWW Image Optimizer plugin Bill. It seems to work pretty well and is automatic. I learned about it from training Marcus1978 did about speeding up your web site. How to Dramatically Speed Up Your Website Tom
Use tinypng, it's not a plugin, you don't have to download it, and it will compress jpeg as well as png, the two most popular formats used on the web.
Just Google tinypng, follow the instruction, and don't forget to down load the image once it has been compressed.
I've seen some training on this, but they always mention online programs and not plugins.
I am not sure about a plugin, but I use this site: http://compressjpeg.com/. Choose the correct tab for your file type and upload, compress, then download, then upload to your website. ~Gina

maybe it is my theme but there is no place on any of my pages for users to leave comments. Is there a plugin for that or is there something I need to switch on?
It's a little tricky to find the place to turn the comments on. Looks like you are in good hands.
You do not need plugin, there are several possibilities to enable them How to enable comments in WordPress pages
