What? Easy?

They say a mom and daughter relationship is easy. Well, I've been in one for 40 years and the longer I am her mom the more she thinks I'm crazy. I really am a little crazy because God has a sense of humor. He made her a foot taller than me so she can lean her elbow down on my shoulder and grin like a chess Cat at me. Oh yea, He gave her more brains than me too. What a joke! And I am supposed to have a good, easy relationship with this person? NOT! Don't get me wrong I really do love her a lot but she drives me freakin' crazy sometimes or most of the time. Besides her height, I have to put up with her gorgeous body along with her beautiful face. What was He thinking? We have been through more trials and tribulations with each other than I can count but we still get back together and make more mom and daughter memories to carry on.

Quite an engaging read and funny too.
Despite all odds, you still have a good mom-daughter bond.

1

Yes we certainly do muslimah! Our bond is crazy but tighter than ever. Praise God.

The mother-daughter relationship is a very complicated one, I agree!

Susan

Yes it is Susan. Wish it wasn't.

I have seen this many times, Barbara! You are still her elder though! Remember that!

Jeff

I remember that but I don't think she does, Jeff.

Haha, yes, they all seem to forget that until it happens to THEM!

My daughter and I have that kind of relationship.

2

Oh yea, I have some anxiety pills!

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your story about your daughter.

I am the eldest daughter of an elderly Mom, 82 years old. She has five of us, three girls and two boys: four grandchildren and a great-grandson, a month old.

I can't relate to having children or being a grandparent. My late husband (he died 6 years ago from Pancreatic Cancer at age 67) has a daughter from his previous marriage. He has three grandkids unbeknownst to him at his death due to being estranged from his daughter.

I know my relationship with my Mom is close, but we weren't during my youth. I am almost in my 60's. I appreciate my Mom more now, but we live so far apart. We do stay in touch via FaceTime.

I sure hope your daughter appreciates you even if she drives you crazy. Smile!

Thanks Brenda. Wish I had my mom. You are blessed.

No it is not easy losing our family members. But mine are probably up there with God laughing at what craziness my family is causing down here. Man God is good, isn't HE?
