Rewarding Feedback Perks
Have you ever read a blog or a site and found issues like a misspelled word or one that is spelled correctly but used in the wrong way. I have and I know how easy that happens and the negative impression it can leave the viewer.
A quick story on a perk that I received by providing feedback to a local radio station in S. Florida. They had published information on a large event promotion. The details were accurate but in the description they had a misspelled word AND a sentence that looked like something was missing. Being the curious person that I am I wanted to know what was missing and felt compelled to tell them of the misspelled word. I checked the contacts and found they had different published numbers and reached out to the web development group. Emailed them the feedback and said if it was my website I would want to know. I received a thank you email that appeared automated but to my great surprise I received another email with a coupon for 4 complimentary tickets to the event and a huge thank you for letting them know from the VP of web development they had published the wrong copy. I used that to open up other dialogue with them and that VP and I have helped each other out from time to time. All because I took the time to send the feedback.
In my business model, I have different ways that I provide a small perk or reward when I get feedback. What I give depends on the situation but trust me that connection is valuable and you must seize the opportunity.
Another post that Kyle did on bonuses and paying it forward made me think of this and I wanted to share.

This is an important factor in our creation process. I agree that we need to be alert- I find that all too often, when i reread something I have written, I find the kind of errors mentioned in your blog. One more thing to be vigilant for.
You are so creative. Hope someone can send such feedbacks to my website. I have no coupon to offer but I will leave some nice comments to his/her websites for sure :)
A great story, thank for sharing! I'll remember this in future if I see something wrong. In the past, I've always just "tutted" and moved on!
This shows again that a negative situation can produce a positive result but it all depends on how well we take positive criticism. Great article BHCC2001
Exactly, I think a contact to my website is positive no matter what or how they got there and the good part is that means they were there and reading it so TRAFFIC LOL

We have to be more vigilant and proof read before posting.
