Milestone 1: Starting Something New

Hello to my WA community!

Well, I finally did it. A few days after joining I've upgraded to premium, completed my first two levels of the Online Entrepreneur Certification, and created my very first website (A Safer Sleep)!

I'm struggling with what I feel like is a steep learning curve and a desire to find the quickest route to success. However, from what I've seen and heard on the community here it is crucial that every step of the training be focused on and followed to the letter. I understand it's a slow process at first, and I'm trying to be okay with that. I figure I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

I'm also struggling, like I always do in life, with an inability to make decisions (on niches, on keywords, on pictures, on anything really). But I also know from experience that this indecisiveness is crippling when it becomes controlling. So I've decided to take back control. I'm going to finish all the training modules and focus on just one site. Then, when I feel more comfortable in the world of affiliate marketing, I will begin to branch out and create more sites.

I have more ideas than I have time to devote to them.

I am a teacher full time, and the only reason I'm really able to devote time to this right now is because it is summer and school is out. My goal is to get as far as I can before school starts back...and then who knows. I definitely want to keep up with everything as best I can!

Anyways, that's probably enough for my first post. Everything is a learning opportunity, which is one reason I'm throwing myself headlong into this. I love learning new things, and I've been dreaming about carving out a space in the digital sphere for a long time.

I'm still frustrated, I'm still indecisive, I'm still overwhelmed. But with the every training section I complete and every community member I reach out to, I feel like I'm one step closer to success. Thank you to Kyle, to Carson, and to the entire supportive community at Wealthy Affiliate.

Thanks guys!

Ben

Hi Ben,

Remember to make the process fun and everything you create will be so much more interactive.

I wish you good luck and great success ahead!

great advice, it gets all too serious sometimes : )

Hey Ben, welcome! I love how honest your 1st blog is. You can tell you are a teacher you have an authoritative calmness about your writing lol.

I have only been here 5 weeks and believe me the first week had me in tears. But as the training goes on, and the weeks go by, it all gets a little bit easier.

My advice take the training steady , give your website time. I made the mistake of rushing through as I was so motivated to get it all up and running and looking like the best website ever. Then I got so frustrated I cried, and went back and changed everything to a very simple theme and started the training from the beginning again slowly.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to give me a shout! and I wish you all the best with the training and lots of success with your new website!
