I don't know if you have watched this training. I want you to follow it step by step. Don't wait until the end act as she works you through. I was having a simalr problem and this training helped me. Menu With Custom Links and Drop Down Non-Clickable Headings
Try this. It may or may not work.
Go into your WP dashboard.
On the left hand side, select appearance, then menus.
This is where you can build a menu.
Create a menu and make it a "Main Header Menu".
Make sure you save it after creating it.
After you create it and edit it and update the menu. Enter another option on the WP dashboard, then back into this one, to ensure that the menu details are still there. If so, open up a NEW browser session and revisit your site.
