Moving Website to a new Domain SUCCESS!

I've been scrimping and saving so I could buy service for autoresponder and new domain for a blog I wanted to create about essential oils, a topic I am passionate about. While I was saving up, I created a subdomain for main site, Home Schooling In the Burbs. Homeschooling In the Burbs was already long, but adding SpringsGardner Essential Oils in front of it was S U P E R long.

Yesterday, was the big day. I purchased the domain I wanted as well as a theme that allowed me to have landing pages and several other layouts that I could choose from on each post and page. I was very excited!

Today, I moved my page, SpringsGardner Essential Oils to my new site and spent the rest of the day editing the css on the child theme to the color scheme and layouts I wanted.

When you move a site, WA's interface informs you that "all of your old links from [insert old website name here] will direct to this domain." I assumed this meant that all the links within my website would connect to the right location in my new site. It does, but I was in for a surprise. It did even more than that!

Fast forward to this evening, I went to change the links on my Pinterest Pins to the new site. Lo and behold, Wealthy Affiliate simplified it for me. Everything has already been redirected! Though my pins show the old address, anyone who clicks my pins ends up on my new website!

Talk about being STOKED! Thanks WA! You just saved me HOURS of correcting all my links on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest!

There's still some tweaking to do. I am grateful I won't have to work on the mundane. I can focus on what is my ultimate goal: Making MONEY!

Thanks for this post because I was thinking about moving my website but wasn't sure how the redirect would happen. Excellent news!

Glad I could help. If it wasn't so streamlined, I would have to set up a redirect notice on the old page to the new page and it would have been a hairy mess and hours of work.
