1000 Pages of Content in a Year!
- Articles for submitting to article directories (streetarticles.com, ezinearticles.com, squidoo, etc.)
- Email follow-ups for submitting to my newsletter subscribers.
- Pages/posts for my websites
- landing pages/ppc ads
- Possibly even an e-book
I'm confident I can monetize the content I put together very well, as I have a background in SEO, web development and have done very well with the little bit of affiliate marketing I have done.
Have any of you set similar challenges for yourselves? I'd be interested to hear how they turned out for you. Am I being overly-optimistic or setting myself up for failure?
I will try to post my progress here regularly. Wish me luck!
By the way, the random picture I posted here is of me playing shogi (Japanese chess). I actually just launched a social network for shogi ... check it out if you have time: shogi.ME. It's a tiny niche with little profit potential, but I love the game!
Cheers!

Hi - I think you'resettig yourself a great challenge. Go for it. You will find as you continue that your writing speed will increase and I have no doubt you will exceed that target. Good luck.
no you are not setting yourself up for failure you are setting yourself up for success but go for 1001 pages of content instead
Good luck it would be great to track your progress and I LOVE commitment to goals, very inspiring
Great stuff! You definitely can do it. I'm still formulating how I'm going to challenge myself. I usually start my day with my tasks and work til I complete them so they are "mini challeneges" for myself.
Yeah, my schedule is all over the place with a one year-old, but ... I think for me breaking it into 1000 for the year, averaging about 3 pages a day, will hopefully go a long way and keep me on task.

haha, I bet you'd be surprised how well you'll do with Japanese Chess. That's a really good niche to be honest with you. As for 1000 pages, keep in mind your goal is to write at least 400 words. If you can't publish that much, it's fine (especially if you know your competition isn't that great via your h1 tag). I can write up a pretty good article in about 20 minutes (along with putting up a picture/editing it with Picasa 3) if I'm going fast, so you'll soon realize it's a bit easier to do it. Now keep in mind I'm talking about 400 worded articles. I'm not talking about well thought out 1,900 articles. But it's those types of articles that'll get you all the comments anyway.

Now let's examine this mathematically. Let's say you spend an average of 1 hour per article, so that's 1,000 total hours. There's 365.242199 days in a year so that's 8,765 hours total. You need 8 hours of rest each day so that's 2921 hours, which gives you 5844 hours to do that.
So... that's about 9 full weeks of work right there out of the whole year. :) Better get to work & not mess around!
