An Exciting Midjourney Update

Have you tried the new Midjourney update yet? I am very impressed with the results I got. This is the v6.1 version.

What’s New?

The new Midjourney has upped the game for producing images from a text prompt. The latest v6.1 version is more realistic, faster, and, I think, easier to create pictures from simple prompts. The only caveat is you must use –v 6.1 at the end of your prompt.

What I Asked For

A very good friend of mine has a birthday in a couple of weeks. So, I decided that for this birthday, I would not wait until the day of to make a picture for her. It just so happens I received the information that Midjourney recently released a new update. It was an early release and was not supposed to be out yet. Also, this was supposed to be a minor update, but it looks like a major update to me. I had the perfect excuse to play with the latest shiny object.

First, I asked for a photorealistic image of an older woman with short blond hair in a kayak on a lake. I received two images, and they were pretty good. In the first image, her arm was kind of bulky, but it could be fixed. However, I had a couple more images, and I had one with her head on backward and another with a third arm, so there are still issues like with other platforms.

The next image.

And my final and favorite image. I changed the prompt to an impressionist painting with vibrant colors (I need to fix the text.)

My Final Thoughts

I used very elementary prompts to test out the new Midjourney. However, right out of the gate, I feel it did a great job. I plan to add more in-depth prompts to see what I get, but this new version shows promise.

I did try midjourney a while back Nancy but was not too impressed with the results!!

After looking at these images though, I will certainly give it another try!!

Appreciate the share my friend! :-)

I was surprised by Midjourney as well. I had used it before, but like you, I was not impressed by the results. This time I was surprised.

Nancy

Just tried it out again and I have to say I am very pleased with the results! :-)

I know. I was not impressed with it before, but my opinion is better with this newest version.

Nancy

I'm with you there Nancy!!

Have you tried Flux yet???

I'm pretty impressed with the results there and it has been my go to recently... :-)

I haven't heard of Flux. I will have to check it out.

Nancy

Please do my friend and let me know what you think! ;-)

Midjourney is great, I use it all the time. It is probably my preferred app, but it does come with a bit of a cost. Dall-e is getting quite good, and Bing Create (and MS Designer) are all excellent platforms as well.

Lots of great generative AI technology on the image side of things...and it is only continuing to get better and better!

They are definitely improving. I haven't checked out the cost of Midjourney yet (I'm afraid to), but so far, I like the new changes. I want to experiment with MS Designer, as the image Tim did was pretty impressive.

Nancy

Nice images. Hmmm ... Midjourney. Heard about this app for ages. Tried it back then. Been a while since I heard about it again.

I had been using Microsoft Designer and CoPilot. Mostly because I have Microsoft lifetime license and can use their services for unlimited amount. So, I can create as many images as possible.

Tim

I use Copilot to help with researching content creation, tables, charts, etc. I have not had much luck with images. It is included in my MS subscription, so I think I will try it. I use different programs depending on what I am trying to create. It seems as if none of them do well at everything so I use different ones for different things.

Your image looks great. Very realistic. I am definitely going to play around with Designer.

Nancy

Thanks, Nancy.

For Copilot, to get it to create images, your prompt needs to start with 'Create image of', then followed by description of what you would like it to create.

For MS Designer, choose the Create Image option. Then simply describe what you would like it to create.

Tim

Thanks for the information, Tim. I now have an excuse to play around a bit :-)

Nancy

All the images look great Nancy.
well done might have a look at it further and yes it is the prompts we need to work out to get the best results and you did well so far.

Keep up the great work

Andre :)

Thanks, Andre. I think with some work I will have a decent birthday image. It really impressed me with how well Midjourney's new update did. They have another update coming out soon, so they will be a major contender in the AI image market.

Nancy

I am sure it will Nancy to think it did well with the current one image how great it will be with the major update.

Enjoy

Andre
