I'm noticing that I am finding it harder everyday to come up with a niche and create a website. I am thinking that it would be a good idea to go with dog food. Maybe someone could provide feedback and let me know if this is a good idea.

If you feel that you can write a LOT of content about dog food, then go for it. But it might be a bit too narrow.
Are you including snacks and other edible dog things? Maybe add in supplements too?
