So, I hate to gripe, but I was reading a blog earlier, and as soon as I opened the page, a video popped up and started playing. Immediately annoyed, I closed the video out and continued to read.
Almost immediately, TWO videos popped up at the same time and started playing automatically.
At that point, my patience was depleted, and I left the site.
I can assure you that most of that blog's readers will react the same way. Not only are automatically playing videos annoying, they could be problematic if you need to watch you band width or are running a program in the background.
So a word to the wise: video is good so long as it doesn't auto start. You'll be much better off if you let your readers be in full control of the video.
