What Motivates YOU?

What motivates you? I believe that it's important to keep that fire in the belly lit and drive through the pain to reach your goals no matter how long it takes. I have good (not great) levels of intrinsic motivation that I can draw on to reach my goals however I often lose motivation when things get repetitive and I get complacent. To overcome this and strive to achieve your goals I believe you need to surround yourself with positive everything! Anything to keep you motivated, whether it be friends, family, success stories, meeting like minded people doing something different everyday. Do whatever it takes to keep yourself on track and focused. I believe it's healthy for you, you will slowly but surely see a change and also attract similar people to you.

For me, it might sound cliche however my motivation is being able to live comfortably and do what ever I want without having to worry about the financial aspect of it. As a person that wants to succeed and live a life of abundance, whether it be money, friends or love. I think you need to take a risk and do something no matter how small it is in order to reach that goal. Think about it this way, if you are really good at what you do at work, why wouldn't you want to create a system yourself and apply your skills and knowledge to it? Start small or big it's up to you, however just start and keep going!

Like I said earlier, my levels of intrinsic motivation aren't great so it's hard at times to keep myself motivated and focused so what I do is draw a lot of external factors which positively influence me. Lucky for me I have a close friend who is like minded and wants to also live a life of abundance, so I can annoy him if I need to talk about this topic.

When I was doing my under grad and post grad and working full time, it literally killed my life . I missed friends birthdays, socialising, time with my partner, and I questioned myself all the time, why am I doing this? Why don't I just travel and enjoy life? I needed a lot of reassurance from friends and my girlfriend, which I was fortunate to get from them. To be honest that feeling at the end of studying is a great feeling, it's that feeling of accomplishment when you think it couldn't of been done.

It's that feeling I often draw on when I'm in situations where I need some motivation, and combining that with positive people especially within the WA community, I hope to achieve my goals of living a life a abundance.

Motivation is something I struggle with at times too. I think it's important to react appropriately when that moment of inspiration strikes, even if it's short lived. It can and will lead to better habits I think

Hi balibuyog, nice reflection. Now it would be great that you set up some specific goals with deadline and go for them, because maybe in that way you can keep your motivation up longer, don't you think?

Hi Tom yeah I agree, goal setting is a major part of motivation, if you have a clear mind of where you heading and the right attitude. I believe you will eventually get to where you want to be.
