The How-To With Comments For A Website
With month two of the Wealthy Affiliate Super Challenge being all about posting comments for our website posts to create engagement on our sites, I thought I would do a comment blog on how to post comments to a website to gain maximum effect.
By now, we should have a minimum of 12 posts added to our websites. This means for every post, we require at least 2 original comments and two replies from yourself per post.
Fortunately for us lucky Wealthy Affiliate members, the website comment platform cuts a lot of hard work from this task.
Website comments add great value to our website posts and increases the SEO level of our post. This added love from the Google search engines include:
- Creates extra AUTHORITY on the subject matter.
- Shows Google people are interacting with your website.
- Adds more content to your website posts.
- Adds more searchable keywords for the search engines.
So as you can see, not only does the humble website comment look great within your posts - They are a good SEO booster ...
How To Request A Comment For Your Website
Requesting comments for your website is an easy peasy process which everyone can do. All that is required is to click on the WEBSITES link to the left on the Dashboard.
Once in the main website dash area, click on the SiteComments tab and then hit the "Request Comments" button and your ready to go.
You will need to place 2 comments to receive 1 back from the WA Members but seeing what website comments do for our sites, they are totally worth it!
What To Do With A Website Comment?
Once you a comment back, now the real fun starts. There are a couple of options open to us when first sighting the comment. What to do with a website comment includes:
- Edit Option (you can edit the received comment)
- Approve (Saves the comment and posts on your website)
- Approve & Reply (Lets you write your reply)
What I normally do when I first receive a new comment, I'll edit for spelling mistakes and sentence structure - the comment gotta make sense!
Then I will hit the Approve + Reply Button. This approves the comment allows you to repond back in a writing section just below.
I always place at least one internal link within the reply comment that leads to a post on my website that adds further value to the topic at hand. This is great for SEO reasons and is another way of keeping people on your website for longer.
Once your comment is finished to your satisfaction, click on the Approve & Publish button as shown above. This publishes your newly finished comment on your website and your ready to show the world that you care.
A little warning, though.
When placing Internal links within your comment, make sure they are the correct ones you want because once you hit the Approve & Publish button - there's no re-editing function.
I learn't this the hard way when writing this blog post, lol.
I put the wrong website link in and diidn't realize (Silly bugger me) until I hit, PUBLISH! This silly bungle cost me 20 minutes soughing out the code within the WordPress comments area.
This is what the code looks like within your WP comments area when published from the WA Site Comments Platform.
If your not to savvy with fixing up code there is a way to avoid this.
When you receive your new comment - click on the APPROVE Button straight away.
This will publish the comment straight to your website and you can reply & place links without all the coding issues.

For month 2 of the Wealthy Affiliate Super Challenge, we have to get at least 4 comments for each new post we wrote in month 1 - Sac.
I have done 26 comments so I'm nearly there, phew...
Iv'e been burning the candle a bit but finally seeing some daylight popping through at last.

I'm still in training and learning, but also feel I'm sending too many support tickets asking how things are done, and what is meant by different things, so I don't want to keep bugging them when I know they're busy with everyone else too. Since I joined W.A., I was under the impression that this is a way to market other companies products somehow as an affililate? Is that right or is this just a blogging platform where you only maybe mention a company that you select from the Affiliate Programs on this home page? Do I have to write a blog about each affiliate, or is that a place where all of you are sharing your affiliate sites? Just a bit confused on if I got into something I meant to, or is it something else since I haven't completed all of the training yet, I'm still kind of lost, but would like to know if I'm on the right path for where I want to take my website.

WA is a training platform with the tools to help you start your own website business. Did you by chance go through the certification training? That walks you through the whole process.
The blogging platform here is for people who wish to share successes or issues they may be having. They'll also blog about affiliate marketing techniques, or how things work within this platform. The blogs are meant to be shared among the members, though they can be ranked on Google as well.
The products you promote on your website are where you would add your affiliate link. You can't add them to any blogs in here.
You pick your niche, find affiliate programs that are relevant to your niche, and write content on your website to drive traffic there. This is what they teach here, among a lot of other things :)
And if you have any questions, you can ask the community to help you. Everyone is very helpful here. Just type your question into the black bar up top and see if anyone's already asked it. If not, then you can post a question for everyone to see.

The fabulous training here will teach you, step-by-step, how to accomplish this.

Thanks for this Jeff! I've tried adding links to my comments before and always had a problem too. This has been extremely helpful. It's been frustrating when the comments is actually requesting how to locate a particular item that I haven't provided a link to in the post.
