Finding A Niche To Market To With Affiliate Marketing
Where is the first place we can look when finding a niche to market to with affiliate marketing in 2021? People first starting online often find it hard and wonder to themselves, how do I start with affiliate marketing?
What Is A Niche Market Product For?
A niche market product is a particular item that people are searching for online and is for either helping people to solve a problem or purchase products that they want or need.
Finding a niche to market to for beginners is one of the hardest aspects of AM as affiliate marketing evolves around locating particular products to promote and write about around a particular niche.
A niche market product can be determined by the characteristics of products, services, and software that people are looking to buy online.
And there are basically 3 different types of niches you can promote online:
- Products - Can include foods, tablets, clothing, equipment, fashion apparel, etc.
- Services - Make money online systems, website hosting, and marketing programs, etc.
- Software - Email marketing, plugins, computer, anti-virus systems, etc.
As AM is solely based around a niche market that you can promote with an affiliate marketing link on a website or landing page, finding your niche product is our number one priority.
So let's say, for example, an internet marketer wants to start a website promoting around a particular kind of niche.
The examples below are not meant to show how difficult it can be to find a niche to market with but instead, give you some ideas of the possibilities with coming up with niches that are worth exploring.
How To Find A Niche To Market About
Finding a niche to market about on your website can basically be achieved by eliminating certain objectives.
To help us find a niche that's both going to be profitable and also enjoyable, it will be greatly helpful if we first enjoy the niche topic we are going to be writing about.
If you have a strong interest in the niche you're writing about on your blog site, the possibility of getting bored or running out of ideas is reduced.
Secondly, try not to pick niches that are too broad. There are close to 6 billion people that use the internet every day so there can be plenty of scope for everyone.
One of the biggest issues I see with people first picking their niche is that they tend to go for niches within the Health & Fitness, Travel, Romance, Dieting, or Music.
These niches are too 'Broad' and you can find yourself competing with 100,s, if not 1, 000,s of websites competing for the same niche.
The good news is that within these niche categories above, there are literally thousands of sub-niches we can aim for.
Whether you're really "passionate" about the niche you choose to bring to market or you would like to learn about the niche you've picked,
What's most important here is, you have to have an interest either way in your niche, otherwise - you can find yourself floundering around in the water without a paddle, and ultimately, fail within the niche.
The How To With A Micro Niche
A far better alternative to a broad niche is to learn the how-to with a micro-niche. These are simply sub-categories of broad niches that have way less competition but can be equally as profitable.
So for example, say we are interested in "Laptops" and we pick this as our niche.
How much competition would you expect from this niche and since free traffic to our website is the main aim, can we get the posts we write ranked on Google?
Well, the answer is - "probably not." Laptops is a very competitive broad niche and can have hundreds, if not thousands of websites competing for the same niche market.
But what if I said you could pick a sub-niche to the same niche topic that you hold an interest in or want to learn about that you have a much better chance of ranking on the first page of Google!
How To Choose A Good Niche For Blogging
Now that we have chosen a good niche for blogging (Sub Niche), what sub-niches could we find swirling around under the niche market, Laptops?
Well, you could start writing blog posts with a sub-niche for the broad niche word "Laptops" such as...
- The best laptops for beginners.
- Best laptops for senior citizens.
- Laptops for children under 13.
- Best laptops for teens.
- Best laptops for home business.
- Laptops for college students.
- The Best laptops for basic home use.
- Best laptop for gaming.
- The best laptop for the money.
- Laptops for high school students.
These are just some sub-niches you can write about and is the basic starting point to target keywords like "The Best Laptops For Beginners" as can be seen below.
All the keywords above displayed with the Jaaxy Keyword Tool are showing low competition (QSR) with competing websites, the SEO rating is great, and have good average traffic flowing through them.
Other great keywords you could use in your different sub-niche posts that have low competition and good average monthly traffic flow like "The Best Laptop For Teens" as can be seen below.
These keywords can especially work in your favor if you add "in 2021." in your H2 & H3 titles into your content. As you can see below, the keywords of "Best Laptop For High School Student In 2020" scored a great all-around SEO score.
I also did a search for the exact same keyword above but added the year 2021 instead to see what kind of stats we were looking at.
Here are the figures...
Please Note: It's not advisable to add too many "In/For 2021" in your content post titles. I would recommend no more than 4 per post.
Other benefits of doing this are that you can refresh your post titles annually and add the appropriate year.
Google absolutely loves you doing this and shows them that your content is up-to-date and relevant!
What To Remember When Finding A Niche!
Remember, when finding your niche, it doesn't have to be hard or difficult.
Just pick sub-niches from a "broad niche" you have an interest in, have a good array of keyword subjects to work with, and enjoy researching online about the facts of the chosen post you're writing about.
What Is A Niche About? Quick Summary
A niche is simply just a product, a service, or a software item that is attached to affiliate marketing products that you can promote on your website to earn commissions when a person purchases through your link.
There are 'Literally' millions of niches out there where you can make money online and the most important ingredient to the recipe is not to start with a niche that's too broad.
The image below shows you keywords of a niche that is too broad (in red), and a sub-niche keyword that can be fine to use (in yellow).
The foremost botton keywords indicated in yellow could make up a great sub-niche (Niche) with lots of title posts you can write about different 'Laptops' that costs under 500 dollars.
