It would be very rare to find someone who makes a living through just being an affiliate of Amazon. The commission is awful and their products aren't great for every niche. It's possible to make decent money through amazon but not very likely to make a living.

Amazon is a good starting point, however eventually you'd want to join high paying affiliate programs as you progress.
