Interesting question...thanks because I am thinking to have a slider theme. Learning from the discussion. Thank you, Arthur,
Try customizing your theme to insert your own images.
Try appearance/customize
my theme has a section called header image where you remove default images and put in your own via media library and then check the box to make it automatically slide, probably, your theme has something similar.
Your homepage looks like default page that some themes have, maybe look also in appearance/customize for section called "homepage", maybe there is a check-box to turn it off.
Also create siterubix.dummy.site and create the same structure of posts and pages and menus without content (insert dummy content even "blablah" in content and titles, pictures will be helpful), apply the same theme. (you will probably need to install it manually because siterubix has limited access to themes) - that's how you can get great at IT part, training, training, training young jedi ;)
If it blows up and you can't fix it, delete whole site and start fresh.
Now you can play in your "sandbox site" exploring every nook and cranny of your new theme without worries that your main site will blow up.
Some themes have more options in visual appearance/customize section than in standard WordPress/dashboard.
Invest some time to get familiar with theme's configuration structure and other options.
Try new ideas there, not on your main site,
try new plugins there, not on your main site,
look how everything works there, and how it integrates before committing changes to your main site.
If it blows up and you can't fix it, delete whole site and start fresh.
Install internet explorer, firefox, chrome, and check out how this theme looks there (some themes are not very good in different web browsers), check it on your phone, check it on your friend's and family phones (do it yourself, to see before them if it blows up on their phones) . You will get some free traffic and also will check how it works :)
Hope it helps :)
i just downloaded the Accesspoint Lite zip file and found the images easily.Shouldn't be too hard to replace them with your own them upload the modified theme.
I think the best option would be to just follow the instructions in the theme documentation about how to add slider images.
See: https://accesspressthemes.com/documentation/theme-instruction-accesspress-lite/
No need to mess about with FTP etc
Also, if you look at my site - ptsdadvice.com - you will see the original content on the left han side under the banner and the little boxes on the right - All my content - imported from my previous theme - is below.
How do I get my content int to boxes?
I don't know how to do that. Have you already tried to ask how to do that in the search bar next to the logo of WA (above )?
Another possibility is PM one of your more experienced followers.
Success, Warner
PS Or have you already fixed it with lall the good advices you have got?
Don't know what theme you've got but one of mine had two images. Twenty Thirteen. I changed them in Dashboard "Appearance" "Header Image" you have to make sure that you size your images to suit the header. You can check mine at http://KenNickless.com
Thank you Ken. When i try to change the Header image, it only changes the small image top left hand side of my site. It is the two (on a carousel) full size images below that I want to replace. There must be a way as the two that are in there are generic. IT is not my strong point
I viewed the source code and the images are here /wp-content/themes/accesspress-lite/images/demo/slider1.jpg
and the second one is probably slider2.jpg
Can't fi d anything on Google about changing this pictures only the logo as you mentioned. Maybe you can find it in the header.php in your editor.
Hi Goldcrowd. Thank you again. The link takes me to the pics and gives me the size (1900 x 550 ) which is a help - but I'm still no further in replacing them wit my own images - surely you must be able to do that?
the images are located in the folder /wp-content/themes/accesspress-lite/images/demo/slider1.jpg you can replace them with ftp or using a file manager
As Go,dcrowd says you can change them through ftp. If you're not familiar with how to use that I'm wondering if you download the theme to your computer as a zip file, unzip it and find where the images are you could change them then upload the modified zip file.
Thank you for responding Goldcrowd. Yes I have all my images in the file in the media section, but I cannot figure out how to change the images. When i try to change the Header image, it only changes the small image top left hand side of my site. It is the two (on a carousel) full size images below that I want to replace. There must be a way as the two that are in there are generic. IT is not my strong point
right-click on the carousel images and save them (this gives you their name. Look for them in the media section and you could try uploading the replacements with the name of the images in the carousel
When I hover over the images the arrow does not change to a hand. When I right click as save as - it calls the image the writing above - and nowhere does it give me the size. Sorry to be so demanding, but I am really stuck
the images for the slider are here /wp-content/themes/accesspress-lite/images/demo/slider1.jpg

Hi Arthur, had a look at your theme and unless you have some knowledge of CSS I don't think you'll be able to customize it as you want it using just the standard customization. This theme has two stylesheets, one for Aplite and one for AccessPress Lite, which appears to be a child theme. Do you really need sliders at the top? Below is an image of your site that I customized using mainly CSS, I'll have another look and see if I can find an easier way for you, but at the moment my advice, for what it's worth, is look for theme that you can customize more easily.
Thanks Harry, through a very roundabout rouet I worked out what I had to do. You are right - this theme is not as 'user friendly' for an IT illiterate like me as others I have used. But the learning curve to come to terms with it is good. Thanks again
Hi Arthur, thanks for your reply, glad you got it sorted. If I can be of any further help in developing your site give me a shout.

I know the service is blocked to mainland China but twitter opened an office in Hong Kong to encourage business
Hi Aurther,Did you try registering without it.I don't think you have to enter a phone number in Twitter. I think its only for SMS text messages.

I use "toothpaste" theme which defaults to putting an excerpt of each new blog on my homepage. This seemed a good idea at the time but I am wondering if I should build a stati
I used a black background with gray lettering which I though looked cool. But, I've had people tell me it's hard on the eyes, so now I have a white background with black letters and it is much better. I harfly ever used pictures. I had about 5 r 6 which I would alternate using only one per post. Now I use pictures as I go along writing content and it really works much better. It really does not take long to add pics.
You have great information on your site I would change the background colour to white makes it easier on the eyes, I also agree with Alan have feature images, I have a similar theme to you and each of my snippets have bright images next to them, I would also reconsider you header and try and get something to fill the space .. hope that is of help to you..
Is that a premium theme? I tried to use it in one of my test websites but WordPress said "No themes found. Try a different search." I can't figure out why there's no "Read More" link because I can't use the same theme. After a little research I've discovered that there is a free version available from SiteOrigin but it's not in the WordPress repository.
Maybe try a different theme Choose a New Theme You can use featured images in your posts (bottom right in your post editor) to give your site a bit more color.
I would delete a couple of widgets. The Archive widget announces that your website has only September and October posts - a sure sign that you're new to this. The Meta widget should only be there for a membership site - you know how to log on without it.
And a Category of 'Uncategorized' doesn't help anyone. You need categories and tags.
Apart from all that you're going great.
Marion
Thank you so much Marion - I can do all of that, but nottoo sure on Tags - what do you mean by that?
To add images you need to create a featured image in the edit blog post itself. You can find it on the left hand side.
As far as making a snippet you need to go to left side menu and click settings, then reading. From there you can change to a summary. That will fix all of your postings to summary on your rolling blog page.
I hope that helps.
Marc
Go into your customize button under 'Appearance' and maybe change colours and background. You will have to play around in there until you get a look you like. Eventually you will want to outsource and have a header banner made to make your site even more professional looking but that's down the road.
Hope this helps!

Install the facebook like/share button plugin. In settings put in your facebook page details. Then you can use the share button to send your post to your facebook page.
All you have to do, is go to your Facebook Page, There is an area you can post status's. Just enter the link there with a brief summary and click post.
Another way is to install social sharing plugins to your website. Then you can just click the share button for the right social network while you are logged in.
Either way works just fine
