Change is as Good as a Rest

Well, I never would have thought changing my portfolio theme after two years would cause such an influx of emails. I innocently put on my goals today to learn how to change the page allocation on the top of my sites. After trying several ways, watching a video that didn't match my theme I went into chat and asked for help. Rich the white knight of WA came to my rescue and pointed me to another video, this didn't quite match but did help one of my sites, page format changed. Now for the stubborn Wordpress theme that didn't sustain a menu change but you could do it through a customise menu but due to it's constrictions wouldn't activate it. Back to Rich, I gave him my website address and he suggested my them was too old!!!!!! I had spent blood, sweat and tears building the site up over two and half years, it's worked, it's paid for itself hundreds of times over, only to be told the theme was old!!!!!
I asked Rich in the kindest of ways if he could suggest another? he did but that looked even older, yes it had all the plugins and widgets but it didn't look right to me. My quest was on to find another theme. I put in my guidelines and column request and back came six yes only six choices!!! I took a deep breathe and looked at each one. Finally deciding it was time for a change and a new look wouldn't harm. Cross fingers and launched the website in the colours and design, within four minutes I had a text and email from a student and customer that they both liked the new look and they were finding new stuff!. Question is the info was the same!!! They were now seeing it!!!
So for starting out with a simple small goal I have had twenty emails now all saying the same thing! Great site change loads more info ( the info is the same but I won't be saying that too loud at the moment).
Thanks Rich for helping in a gallant way, as all members seem to do here on WA. You never know where a small daily goal will lead you after you ask the question and set it into action.
