SO I HAVE FOUND MYSELFLATELY, DIGGING DEEPER WITH UNDERSTANDING THIS VERY POWERFUL WORD THAT DOESN’T EXACTLY HAVE ONE SINGLE DEFINITION OR MEANING. THIS MULTI MEANING WORD OR CHARACTERISTIC THAT WE AS HUMANS POSSESS EACH DIFFERENT IN OUR OWN WAY.

ALSO, SO POWERFUL IT CAN LITERALY CHANGE WHO YOU ARE NOW AND IN THE FUTURE, AS WELL AS TEACH YOU MANY SKILLS, AND BEHAVIORS SUCH AS IMPROVING MOTOR SKILLS IN SMALLER CHILDREN WHICH IS IMPORTANT FOR GROWTH.

TEACHES PATIENCE, CREATIVE LEARNING IS FUN AND HELPS YOUR CHILDS DEVELOPEMENT. SUPPORTS INNOVATION, IMPROVES PRODUCTIVITY, ENCOURAGES PROBLEM SOLVING, PROMOTES SELF-EXPRESSION, RELIEVES STRESS HELPS GAIN CONFIDENCE It’s AN EXPRESSION OF ONE’S SELF TO THE VERY CORE. WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY FIRST TOPIC.

BUILDING A “GROWTH” MINDSET THROUGH CREATIVITY

As a child before my teenage years I remember having such mindset. The feeling of being empowered and stronger. I truly felt like you could do anything you wanted, achieve the things you desired, accomplish the impossible if you just set your mind to it! Being fearless and up for any challenge that came my way. I was productive and I was happy. Nobody could take that from me. I was invincible!

I found as I got older, and through trials and tribulations I seem to have lost that which I once had. Not really noticing it while growing up and living life as it was dealt to me, lost that vision of me. Uncomfortable in my own skin struggling with depression, low self-esteem, lack of interest, and consumed with sadness, with my eyes closed lost sight.

I have started to notice all of this, wishing I had seen it sooner to be able to start changing it as it was happening. Now on a mission have been studying this “WORD” of many colors I call it. It’s really fascinating, the many ways it can have an effect in your life. So getting back to the reason I have been studying this energy and seeing what ii’s capable of doing and what an impact it can have in peoples lives, decided to put it to the test. Who knows maybe it can help me get back to where I want to be mentally and emotionally, as well as helping me mold my daughters fixed mind set into a growth mindset.

Not that she didn’t get encouraged or praise, that’s something I’ve made a point in doing for several reasons, however, unlike me as a child, lacks confidence in herself among a few other things I’d like to help her improve. So she can break free from the succubus disease they call depression and take control of her life like I needed to do, and plan on doing. With that being said, it brings us back to putting it to the test!

EMBRACING THE POWER OF POSSIBILITY

I’m sure we all know the story of the little tugboat, ” I think I can, I think I can.” Knowing what we do know, when it comes to what this word or characteristic is capable of doing, and the possibilities of the outcome, by implementing it into every day activities of our lives, is needless to say, very inspiring. So who’s to say it can’t help someone overcome depression? After all, let’s recap from some previous blogs.

We discovered :

There are many benefits that come from creativity, such as, it supports innovation and improves productivity. It encourages problem solving, Promotes self-expression, relieves stress, it gives permission to make mistakes which in turn gives us freedom knowing there is no right or wrong way. We learn to trust our self and our instincts and gain confidence. Obstacles and challenges throughout life are inevitable.

Though we might not be able to find an exact definition we have come to learn, that creative thinking involves far more than one side of the brain, there are certain characteristics and behaviors that are more common in creatives. Being creative allows you to embody joy and authenticity into your goals and objectives in life.

Once you set yourself free from any limiting beliefs surrounding your creativity you can adopt a pro-creativity mindset that will free your mind to believe and trust in your innate creative spirit allowing your creative juices to flow.

Embracing the creative process and relishing innovative ways of thinking. Knowing what you want out of life stems from a creative mindset

Let’s start with a powerful tool towards shifting your mindset, Affirmations Let’s start with a powerful tool towards shifting your mindset, affirmations and mantras. If you repeat “I am creative” to yourself often enough you might just start to believe it, you might just start to act that way and look for opportunities to develop and utilize your creativity. I suggest an affirmation slightly more specific to your own challenges, If you can add visualization to this, even better. If you can read and consume some positive material on top of it, that’s best!

1. Meditation

There is a lot of research happening around meditation right now. Developing your ability to observe might be the most beneficial type of meditation for creativity. Meditation is a mind exercise that trains attention and awareness. A way of recharging your batteries.

3. Journaling

The benefits of journaling are two-fold. Maybe three-fold and ten-fold. Try it and you might experience compounding benefits. One, you can see into your thoughts and discover your limiting beliefs. From there you can practice gratitude and start to shape your beliefs. Second, unless this is third, journaling can be a free writing exercise which can help you capture your ideas. Don’t put a limit on it, there are no bad ideas in a brainstorm.

4.) Exercise

Take a walk or engage in more serious exercise. This will clear your head as well as reduce your stress

5.) DO — DO THE WORK

Sit down and write, or paint a picture, or whatever, you choose to overcome resistance, it gets in the way when trying to be creative. Doing something creative will help you be more creative. It’s time to discover and develop your creative mindset. It starts with two simple facts. You are already creative (somewhere deep down) and you simply need to connect with the creative within. 2. You have the ability to practice, grow, and develop your creativity.

Successful people tend to focus on growth, solving problems, and self-improvement, while unsuccessful people think of their abilities as fixed assets and avoid challenges.” “Our research shows that adolescents can learn to tell themselves a different story, a story in which people have the potential to change,” If they can do it, so can you. You’ll be more successful for it.

So my question is, can or does having a creative mindset help overcome depression in order to be and live a happy successful life?

Conclusion

With that being said, In my opinion, beings that creativity is much like a growth mindset in the sense that they have positive power, Life Changing Power. Therefore, If having a growth mindset improves so many characteristics and traits bad habits, your way of seeing yourself and grow it to change how you feel resulting in being a happier healthier successful member of society, by training your brain into being a growth mindset, then I don’t see why it couldn’t help someone overcome depression which in turn would change the way a person sees and feels ultimately defeating the demon called depression! That is if you actually “DO THE WORK” and implement the necessary tools and practices into your life EVERY day. I HAVE NOW BEGUN MY PERSONAL JOURNEY DOWN THIS ROAD.
