"Hack away at the unessential"
It's not the daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential.
-Bruce Lee
I'm a big fan of Bruce Lee and have read and studied some of his work. He started martial arts training as a teenager in the school of Wing Chun. He later moved to the U.S. and studied in college. Bruce was a training freak who trained and studied in every bit of his spare time. He would read a book, lift weights and watch T.V. all at the same time. Bruce became very successful with his acting and martial arts career. He was making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in his movie career. Bruce is personally my favorite martial artist and a big idol of mine.
Bruce has many great quotes, but I want to talk about the one above. If I were to relate that to martial arts it would mean to limit your movements to the minimum. I'm sure you've seen in all the action movies when fighting, they have fancy steps, large movements and cool looking moves. When you see Bruce Lee fight, it was extremely fast and limited movements. He had to slow down his movement for the cameras to properly capture him. All those big and fancy kung fu techniques were just for show to him. He refined his moves and moved fluidly, getting rid of all the unnecessary movement.
Now how does this apply to websites and blogs?
Since I started Wealthy Affiliate, I've been getting all these other ideas for websites. I had ideas for about 6 or more websites and I wrote them down. I bought some domain names and planned to work on some of these websites. I started to get overwhelmed by all the content and ideas I was going to create. I only ended with one website I update regularly and another website with not much content. I decided to drop the website that doesn't have much for now to "hack away at the unessential". I might pick it up later, but I'm going to focus primarily on my one website and a new one and am creating. That way, I am not overwhelmed if I have 4 or more websites at the same time.
Do you have any unnecessary activities that you can "hack" away? Maybe you can refine your focus on activities, cut down the time you spend watching T.V., or work on just one project at a time.
Let me know below what you can "hack" away.

I like your blog and use of Bruce Lee quotation in regard to WA! It is true that in excitement, you can take on too much , or create too many goals at once, then making it impossible to achieve all! Best to cut down and concentrate on less, to create More!
Thanks for the reminder, Lisa
