Don't just think about it, Blog about it
Early this morning I was contemplating monetization, a subject that we discuss here a lot.
Specifically I was thinking about how emotional, hot button, and even third-rail subjects are monetized, and I came to a realization.
We all know that sex sells. Humans have used sex to buy and sell since forever. Recently though, I've noticed how much Fear is used in the same manner, and it isn't discussed so much as other forms of monetization techniques. The more I thought about it the more I realized that fear, some call it fear porn, is used everywhere to motivate people to buy stuff.
So in keeping with the mantra, don't just think about it, blog about it, I wrote an article.

Great article. Oh boy, don't get me going. Those catch phrases are so marketable! It is so tempting to use sex mantras to sell, sell, sell. I just can't do it.....but the fear mantras? huh. Genius. Somehow, I think my ethics could allow a little of that. Afterall, fear is a healthy response, right?
With ghouls, ghosts and goblins just over a month away, some fear might be just the ticket. :)
