Focus, Refocus.Oh Wait, FOCUS!
Focus! It's an easy concept, hard to follow through. Dealing with a bit of ADD, I have had to become strict with myself on carrying out tasks. I can jump track in the blink of an eye or as we say around here, "chasing squirrels".
Ideas are constantly running through my head. I want to know the end results before I get started but there's no quick way to get there! How do I handle it? There's many ways a person can increase their ability to focus. Here's a few of mine.
Make a List
I make lists and even prioritize the items on that list but I don't always stick with it. For that matter, I don't always keep up with it. The greatest advantage to doing this is the mental image it creates. There's something about writing it down that helps me remember what I have to do.
At the end of the day evaluate what didn't get finished and start on them first the next day. Allowing more time on certain tasks is an asset so view it as that.
Make Time for Obstacles
While making lists it's important to realize there are obstacles! No day goes as planned, not in my world anyway. I allow a little time to take care of these obstacles. At the end of the day it makes everything else seem like progress, including the spur of the moment tasks.
Take It One Day at a Time
So today I didn't get it all done. Tomorrow's coming. I strive for my best but never get so comfortable that I stop pushing, growing and finding ways to overcome the inability to focus.

Lists are a great way to keep focused, and accepting that we may not get everything done in a day can be empowering as well.
Looks like you are defining your path Annette.
Best wishes for 2019
