One Year & Counting

Well, it's been almost a year now since I first started with WA. Like many of you I signed up for the free Entrepreneur Certification course and loved it. I've since continued progressing through more and more courses and applying what I've learned along the way.

To tell you the truth, I thought I'd be much further along by now with my online achievements. Somewhere along the way I decided to build up not one but two sites.

Keeping content on both sites fresh and original keeps me at my keyboard all day long. That includes the hours I spend pushing my content out on social media platforms, creating infographics, crafting several social media images for each blog and building videos.

The hours sure do fly by!

I'm usually on my lap top by 9 AM and through for the day by 7 PM most days. I'll take short breaks to rest my eyes and stretch. Go for a walk with my husband and my dog.

Although I've made a few sales of my own digital products, they are still very inconsistent with mixed results. To my knowledge, I've only had one WA referral. I'm also working on some ideas I have for new digital products.

My sites seem to be sitting on Google Rankings in the 60 to 70 ranges respectively. They've been stuck there for quite some time. On average, I'd say I add 2-3 (1000 words average) blogs per week. So much time goes into researching just one blog! I great comments though. :-)

Would I do it all again? Yep!

Call me crazy or a gluten for punishment. I keep reading how other members here are doing really well and there's so much encouragment to be found here. I admit I get frustrated when read that others have found affiliate marketing success in just a few short months.

Why do I stay? I think it all boils down to the fact that I love learning. I believe that somehow, someway I'm going to stumble on the one thing that shoots my site into the stars.

I'm a firm believer in paying our dues in life. Some lessons are harder than others. This one seems to be testing my level of perseverance.

I used to start and quit things easily when I was younger but having kids changed all that. You should never quit on your kids! Although sometimes I wish I could transport myself into an alternate universe.

So, what am I up to now? Well, I'm still blogging along and in the midst of going through one of my sites using the Asset Cleanup button very cautiously. My site speed was running to slow so I optimized by blog images and it improved a little.

I have to go through one blog at a time and deactive plugins not in use on that particular blog. For instance, the only page that requires my WooCommerce plugin to load is my Shopping Cart page. So, I deactivate it on each of my blog posts. Sigh...there's got to be a better way. Just wish I knew it!

I think another big reason is that I love creating. I'm a digital designer and I do enjoy writing and creating images and now videos. Plus, I want to prove my husband wrong. If others can make consistent solid income, then why can't I? No answer to that one yet.

Lastly, I often come across the very enticing training courses and by this or that new e-book, etc. I admit, that I look! Yes, and I'll click and read about many of them.

However, I do remind myself that WA has 19 years worth of training and knowledge right here at my finger tips. So before you get sucked into the newest shiny thing with lots of bells and whistles and promises to boot, check the WA library first. You'll likely be able to find that it's already been covered right here and save yourself some cash.

Well, folks. That's my latest update. Wish it were more exciting but at least it's honest. Thanks for all the encouragement and keep it coming!

To your success,

Anne

Thanks for sharing Anne. WA is a marathon that few will finish. But one of the traits of an entrepreneur is we never give up. I have been here active less than a year, and for about a dollar a day just the networking is worth the price of admission.

Keep at it. You have a great attitude. That is contagious to us all.

Making a living, making a difference.
