Finding Your Niche In An Already Crowded Market Space
Common in the health market are blogs that mainly consist of recipes. The headlines are fairly boring and void of keywords.
Now, in a lot of cases, these things are posted because you really don't know what else to post. Posting recipes as "fillers" of content will do very little for your site. And I get that.
Look, there are just far too many websites dedicated to recipes for you to compete with. So, where does that leave you? Not in a good place, honestly. Recipe sites are a saturated market.
The world of cooking recipes is highly inflated. There is just too much supply. The sites that do get traffic doing this are typically really big, well established sites with big marketing budgets.
In other words, if you're not willing to make your business pretty much your entire focus and do it for a long while before you see any return, then recipes as a content strategy isn't the best idea.
And what I notice is that many of these site owners post recipes because they don't know what else to post.
So, what do you do then?
The health & wellness markets are profitable and they're crowded for a reason. But, it's a long uphill slog to compete with these well established sites in an already flooded market.
The trick to success is to find a niche that is NOT already saturated and has room to grow. In order to find that, you'll have to dig much deeper and tighten the net around a very specific group of people with like interests.
People often worry about closing in too tight a niche won't be popular enough. Think about the millions of people online around the world at any given moment of any 24 hour period. You only need a tiny slice of that to be hugely successful!
Get busy really figuring out how to stand out and push your brand out there. Do the dirty work to really decide what your BRAND will be. A brand is your identity. It's what makes you different.
People who do well in any niche, build up their unique brands. They build something much bigger than just some articles, some funnels, and some recipes.
They build a BRAND and they build a community that is just as much about the value as they are about building a connection with their audience.
Are you willing to get out there and provide what your market is looking for? Just how willing are you to put yourself out there?
If not, it'll be tough to make a dent in those really busy markets.
You can try to rely on paid ads, however you will need to have really good convertion rates to pay for it. Also, keep in mind that ads in that space will cost more than many other markets because of the high demand.
So, instead of posting recipes and crossing your fingers, realize it will take much more than that. How do you stand out?
