Why I Trust Some Youtube Creators More Than Others

In Frame: BodmonZaid (Laiba Zaid)

I watch YouTube quite regularly, whether it is for entertainment , reviews, tutorials , or even just background videos while doing something else . Overtime, I have noticed that there are certain creators I trust more than others . This made me start thinking about what actually makes someone feel trustworthy online.

Personally, I think authenticity plays a huge role . I usually trust creators who feel genunine and honest rather than people who seem only focused on selling something. One creator I enjoy watching is BodmonZaid (Laiba Zaid). I think part of why I enjoy her content so much is because, as someone South Asian , it feels nice seeing representation that I can relate to. Her videos feel personal and life-style focused rather than overly promotional , which makes the content feel more genuine to me . I think when content feels relatable , audiences naturally trust them more .

I have also noticed that honesty matters a lot . I tend to trust creators more when they share both the positives and the negatives about a product or an experience instead of making everything seem perfect.

In my opinion, people are more believable when they admit flaws or are realistic about what something can and cannot do. Sometimes when creators constantly promote products, or every video starts feeling sponsored, it can become harder to tell whether they actually like something or are only recommending it because they were paid to.

Another reason why I trust some YouTube creators more is consistency. Over time, audiences start noticing patterns. If someone always seems transparent, gives honest opinions , or stays true to the type of content they make , it becomes easier to trust what they say. However, if someone suddenly starts promoting things that feel unrelated or unrealistic , it can make it content feel less genuine.

I also think YouTube feels different to other platforms because creators have more time to explain things. Unlike short videos on TikTok or Instagram, YouTube videos before buying something because I like hearing more detailed thoughts rather than only seeing short clips.

Overall, I think the reason I trust some YouTube creators more than others comes down to honesty , authenticity and consistency . From what I have noticed , audiences are more likely to trust creators who feel relatable and genuine rather than creators who make everything feel overly promotional or perfect
