The Moment I Discovered Logan Is a Marketing Major

I need to talk about something I discovered while reading The Mistake by Elle Kennedy.

Because somehow, after loving Logan for quite some time, watching the Off Campus Amazon Prime series, using him in my Briar U marketing consultation, and relating to him more than I probably should, I discovered something that made me stop reading:

Logan is a marketing major.

Excuse me? How did I not know this?

On page 281 of The Mistake, Tucker mentions that Logan is a marketing major, and I genuinely had to pause.

Because apparently, this is information I should have known earlier.

Especially because I am also a marketing major. And if that was not already enough, Logan wears number 22 on the hockey team. Twenty-two is my birthdate.

At this point, I am choosing to believe the universe had been sending extremely obvious messages and I have simply been the last person to receive the memo.

Why This Makes My Briar U Consultation Even More Personal.

I already loved working with Logan the most during my Briar U consultation.

The Briar U consultation is still my favourite Storytelling Hub consultation I have created so far, and Logan was the character I enjoyed exploring the most.

But now that I know he is a marketing major?

I feel like I understand why I connected with him so much.

I am a marketing major.

He is a marketing major.

We both have number 22 involved in our lives.

And now I can genuinely imagine us sitting somewhere, having a conversation about marketing and immediately disagreeing about something completly ridiculous.

I can picture myself analysing a campaign and Logan making some sarcastic comment about it.

I can picture us arguing over whether a campaign is actually good or whether the audience just thinks it is clever branding. I can picture him trying to charm his way out of an arguement.

And I can picture myself absolutely refusing to let him win.

Because I would have a point- obviously.

The Show Never Told Me This.

This is the part that actually makes me laugh.

I have watched the Off Campus Amazon Prime series.

I have spent time with these characters.

I have created marketing content around them.

And somehow, the show never told me that Logan was a marketing major.

So I had to discover this while reading The Mistake.

HOW DID NOBODY TELL ME???

I had been out here relating to Logan, loving his character, working with him in a marketing consultation , and apparently we had an entire academic connection sitting right there in the book.

The information was hiding in plain sight.

This is Why I Love Using Characters in Marketing

This is also exactly why using fictional characters in my marketing content feels so natural to me.

I do not just look at a character and think: "How can I attach a marketing concept to this person?"

I already know these characters.

I understand their personalities.

I connect with them.

And sometimes, I discover something new about them that makes the connection even stronger.

Finding out that Logan is a marketing major made the Briar U consultation feel even more personal to me.

I was already exploring his character through a marketing lens.

Now I find out that, within the story, he is actually studying marketing too.

The irony is not lost on me.

Logan and I would probably be a problem.

I can already imagine how we would interact.

Two marketing majors.

Both with opinions.

One of us probably overanalysing a campaign.

The other probably pretending not to care while secretly having a very strong opinion.

And if Logan tried to use his charm to distract me from the actual marketing discussion?

I would notice.

Eventually.

Maybe.

I can imagine us debating branding, arguing about whether a campaign is actually effective, and analysing why people respond to certain marketing strategies.

And honestly?

I can already see myself relating to him even more because of it.

Final Thoughts

The more I discover about Logan, the more I understand why he became my favourite character to work with in the Briar U consultation.

I already connected with him.

I already loved exploring his character.

I already related to him in many ways.

Then I discovered he is a marketing major.

I am a marketing major.

He wears number 22.

22 is my birthdate.

And I discovered all of this while reading The Mistake.

At this point, I am not saying anything.

I am simply observing the evidence. 👀🏒📚

So yes.

The Briar U consultation is still my favourite.

Logan is still my favourite character to work with.

And now I have one more reason to say:

Of course I connected with the marketing major wearing number 22.
