I Don't Have A Passion!

So there was this person, let's call him Muffin, who spoke to me about this biz and finding a niche...

Here's how it approximately went:

Muffin: I kinda wanna start my own website, but I don't know what to write about...

Me: Need help or ideas?

Muffin: Sure, anything!

Me: Let's do the niche research! (So we googled niche ideas, and narrowed it down to a top 5 ideas that he, more or less, finds interesting.)

Muffin: So you're telling me to choose now top 3 niches, and then the final one that will become my website idea?

Me: Yep, the niche that you find most interesting, will become your website.

Muffin: But I don't have a passion for any of those in my top 3 list. I mean, I like the idea of it and it's interesting, a bit, but it's not my passion.

Me: So, what is your passion? Something that you will feel like: YEAH THAT'S MY THING!

Muffin: I don't know really... I'm quite neutral at everything and I don't have passions.

Me: I know the feeling, I, also, like many things and many things are quite interesting, but I wouldn't call any of them my DREAM PASSION! Some people have it, they know from the early age that they love to sing or draw and stuff. I never had that.

Muffin: Yeah me too, but how did you choose the topic for your website if you don't have a specific passion for something?

The Neutrals

There's 3 types of people out there:

1. Those, who have passion and drive for something specific, they take hardcore action and become successful very quickly.

2. Those, who have a few interests and willing to take action, but do not really have any passion.

3. Those, who may or may not have passion, may or may not have interests, and are not willing to use/grow them further. They are fine with the way things are.

I fit in the second category, I have a few interests, but at the same time a bit afraid that if I devote myself to one, I'll get bored very quickly. At the same time I'm willing to take action and make life more interesting.

So how did I pick my niche?

I choose you Pikachu - Nichechu! (lame joke, sorry haha)

1. I picked my top 5 niches, narrowed them down to top 3 and, as I said before, my top 3 list wasn't my passion, I was very neutral towards all of them.

2. I picked the one that I more or less liked, at a random...

3. I just went for it.

You don't need a passion, you don't need motivation, You simply go for it and see what happens. Since it's an OK interest of yours, you are capable of showing interest in the subject when you write your blogs.

Have I become passionate about my niche now?

Honestly, It is getting more interesting as I keep writing about it regularly. I don't know where it'll take me, maybe it'll develop into a passion, it may also stay as an interest - I don't mind either way.

Sometimes, you have to look at things more simple and just YOLO (You Only Live Once).

I have waited for my inspiration, a dream passion for years - took no action of course. What if it's ok to have no passion? You still can build a friggin successful business!

When I read comments and reviews on what people say about my article - surprise surprise, they enjoy it a lot, and they learn a lot from it. That's already a huge success for someone without a passion!

Let me encourage you!

Don't wait for the dream to come, go and make your dream from a scratch!

Choose any topic of interest and just go for it, and see what happens. ;)

Best of Luck!

Angie. =^.^=

I hear you, Angie, there is just so much going on it is hard to single things down to the one.We are like bands some of us are one hit wonders some folks get into the rhythm of things and just churn out the hits.
Great post really enjoyed the read and the down to earth approach really refreshing.

I'm really glad you enjoyed this ^^ hehehe

That quote is absolutely truer than you may think.

You obviously landed on something that you kinda like and kinda are interested in and grew it from there.

I wish you a lot of luck and the willingness to learn all you can about it so that, even if it doesn't become the driving force in your life, you get to be an expert about it!

Yeee exactly! Well said and thank you for your wishes hehe ^^

I liked the post, very creative and sincere.Thank you, Angie.:)
