A few years back I as working at Taco Bell. At first I really enjoyed my new job. I was happy for about 6 months and all of a sudden my boss started getting jealous of me and I didn't know why. The business started picking up as my Mexican friends found out that I worked there. They couldn't speak English very well and I spoke broken Spanish. I also brought in a lot of other visitors there as I was the cashier. She (my boss) started making me work every Sunday and from open to close which was a no-no. I didn't get my overtime money. My cousin had gotten into a wreck and almost killed them. The hospital was just across the street and I wanted for about 30 minutes to check on my family. It was almost time for me to go home and my boss told me that I had to work overtime. I was upset but I didn't let anyone know. I asked could I have 5 minutes in the cooler and that was allowed. I was still bubbly like I always was. Ok in 2 weeks my cousin's husband passed away and I asked could I go to the funeral. Well guess what! I was told no in no uncertain terms. I said ok and asked for 5 minutes in the cooler and I was granted my request. Three days later I was fired for being too happy. I was told that it was impossible to be as happy as I was all the time. To make a long story short, the business went downhill and they had to close that branch of Taco Bell. You never know what you have until you lose it.

I know it was harsh the way you were treated, Mary....but you were well rid. She rejected your positivity because she was so negative. Thats why she let you go. As for the business well......you reap what you sow.. :)
You should have reported her for harassment. That is not way to manage people and I'm sure the hierarchy would have sorted her out in some way. They know how important good PR is from good workers.
You know, the strange thing about this experience was that I forgave her and asked God to bless her. That is what the Bible says.
