Sock or Snake

When I was a young girl we lived in the country on acres, this place was called Diamond Creek and it was just beautiful. The property is surrounded in gumtrees with three dams, racehorses out the back and sloping hills with boxing kangaroos. As a small girl it was fantastic having such excitement to wake up to every morning. I would never know what the day would bring.

Which brings me to this story one day.

Out the front of the house was a circler driveway with lushes grass following, a clothes line on the side and a big tyre swing attached to a gum tree which was my usual hangout.

So one morning around 5 o'clock I was woken to a great bang. As I was scared I raced down the hall into my Mothers room and noticed she was starring out the window, I said "why are you starring out the window?" and she said come and have a look, so I tip toed to the window still scared from that noise I heard, I see my dad with the shotgun. My Dad turns around and says " I just shot the sh#t out of my sock, I thought it was a snake". His excuse was that it was so foggy and he was half asleep to realise his sock flew off the clothes line on the grass out front of his window. We were so worried something bad happen and all it was is Dad shotting a hole in his sock.
