Okay...new on here...
A description... I'm 35, I live in Australia with my partner and children.
My first passion is playing guitar, followed closely by writing (mainly fiction), drawing (portrait sketches), singing and painting.
I've just moved house and it's time to throw myself into something (or somethings) new, hence why I'm now on this site.

Hi Terry, I read some of your blog entries earlier, and wondering how 'the year of the Carroll' is coming along for you? Hope all is on track!

Hi Angela - its coming along fine. I am just tweaking some e-books for publication and hope to get the subscription course up and running soon.

Hope you're progressing too.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Kyle! Yes I've thought up some niche ideas since watching the video and reading up on niches. First off, this has totally flipped my thinking upside down. "What can I do to make money?" versus "What do I have to offer/how can I help?" changes everything for me!

I've been brainstorming niches (using that answers website amongst other things) and have got it down to six things I'm interested in. Some could be 'authority' sites, and others could be 'mini-niche' sites.

My niche ideas (in no particular order)
1. Unplug Me - device addiction (adults/kids?)
2. Weddings - I make candles, so would use that to market those and use affiliate links for wedding related items
3. Teenagers (10 - 18 year olds) - The tough years suicide prevention and advice - a place for teenagers to go for gender specific topics including bullying, socialising, online etiquette, health, relationships, etc.
4. We're having a baby - now what? (preparing for baby, mother in pregnancy, baby development through pregnancy - aimed at parents expecting babies.) Could maybe link to a non fiction ebook? I'm expecting baby number 5, so this site could evolve with this child, slowly progressing from pregnancy through to teen years and beyond...
5. Eating Disorders - the forgotten victims. A resource and support site for family members and friends who have a loved one battling an eating disorder (focus on bulimia and/or anorexia). I'd have to do research, but I grew up with a bulimic mother and would've appreciated such a resource! This could be used as a template for other disorders/addictions.
6. Power of Intention/lucid dreaming/affirmation - a feel good, positive site to inspire without making eyes roll!

If you have any recommendations or feedback I would greatly appreciate it.

Your niche ideas are definitely viable directions for your niche. You need to choose one when starting out, what are you most passionate about?

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)
