Hi Guys. I get how to set a static homepage. I was looking for a plugin to create a visual homepage with a full scale image since classic editor wont do this. FYI, I found Elementor and spent 90min building a beautiful homepage.
The problem is, my page disappeared into thin air once I exited Elementor interface.
Turns out this is a common bug with Elementor. Funny not a single person mentioned it in the thousands of five star reviews. So I'm annoyed as it is a great editor but too afraid to use it again in case the same happens. back to the drawing board I guess.

Hi Andy, personally I like what Alexander @AlexEvans suggests. It is very easy to do and it saves you from having another plugin which, as you know, affects your site's download speed.

Although, there are loads of great plugins you can try to see if you prefer going that route.

Hi, Andy sounds like you are looking for a page builder, there are quite a few.

If you are looking to set a home page as you see on some websites the full image.
A simple way to do this on the fly.

- go to your Wordpress dashboard.
- create a page - Hompage
- look on the left-hand menu of the page there will be a setting- set featured image click and then, select the image from your media library follow the directions. Most themes have this functionality.

-back to your dashboard.
- scroll down the left-hand menu.
-select settings.
-select reading.
-select set static page.
-select, home page and then select Hompage from the dropdown.
-save changes.

It is possible to add functionality to your Page.

WordPress is so flexible and provides so many options, it can be a matter of exploring the possibilities.

A good idea is to set up a test site using one of your Site Rubix sites
Ideal to try things out and play around with themes and plugins.

It can take some experimentation to get that home page that we are happy with.

or you could try the wordpressblock editor
this has all of the possibilitie to do what you want.
especially if you add block plugins - there are plenty of them now.

I'm trying to build a quality homepage. Full size image, large and small text layover and maybe two buttons but without coding, seems impossible to do that in Wordpress right?

You can set homepage to latest posts or specific page in the customize of your themes.

As far as i know, no plugin does that.
