Beginner tip: How to copy files from a sidebar slideshow to your own computer. (dsigned as a title for live site SEO - if that works also.)

Full instructions on how to upload images from a sidebar MEGA SLIDER slideshow to your site – if you don’t already know.

To install the META SLIDER plugin from your home site WordPress Dashboard please access your homepage Dashboard in a seperate browser window. This can be done by using the right hand mouse button when logging into the dashboard during the final login selection of the WA login at the SiteSuilder as below:

Hover the the cursor over the Plugins button and the following page will be displayed:

Select the Add New button on the left hand side of the dashboard.

You will be presented with the next page after a few seconds. In the Search Box (top right hand side – see arrow) type mega slider & press ENTER on your computer keyboard. This will load you into the correct plugin page.

Once the following page has loaded select the first plugin on the list – if this is not the first then please scroll down the list to that plugin & then press the Install button as per arrow. The META SLIDER plugin will then install.

please follow any on-screen instructions during the install process &

activate the plugin as per below:

the Deactivate button only shows once plugin has been activated. Before activation this will say Activate

The META SLIDER will now have been installed & activated.

There should now be a tab on the left hand side of the dashboard nameed META SLIDER.

Now we move on to preparing the images for the META SLIDER. At present there are 4 slide images ready to be copied onto your computer. The simplest way to do this is to right click on each image & save it as it appears in the sidebox slider on this page – located at the based of the right hand sidebar column.

The following steps should be repeated for all slides you wish to add to your site.

Hover over each slide image & right click then save each slider image. You can rename each image to suit your site & Image SEO settings as you choose. The filenames used here will be SEO indexed as per filename. Please feel free to use the filenames as supplied with the images if you choose.

If you use the names of the slides as given these will generate a keyword for each image that will be as per the filename of each. These can probably be viewed by Google but will appear way down the searches unless you search for them using each individual filename as the search term. I cannot guarantee how long Google, Bing & Yahoo will take to do this but it each of these images will add to your SEO & rankings, I hope.

Once you have copied & saved each image to your computer it is time to get to the meaty parts. These are not difficult simply more time consuming for each slide to be added to YOUR new slideshow.

REPEAT STEPS – For each slide you wish to add to YOUR slideshow repeat each step until

you get have loaded your final slide.

Once the following page appears select the New Slider tab & replace the New Slider text with that of your choosing. After this your META SLIDER slideshow will be accessed during page and post editing screens with a drop down menu of all of your slideshows next to the Insert Media tab on each page you subsequently access to create or edit pages & posts.

Once you have started the new slideshow screen as above select the Add Silde. The MEGA SLIDER loading area will now appear. As we populate the slidehow more slides will appear in the slideshow list. Load each image fro your computer and save selection.

Omce the images has loaded you will be returned to the add new image selction and the slider list will increase for each image.

Enter the address of the page on your site that you wish to link this slide to when clicked.

Click on the New Window tickbox. This will load a new browser page when slide is clicked on during viewing. Simply access the page you want to link to then copy & paste the address from the address bar (first area of enterable text from the top. We have yued YourWebsite.com as an example only – this should be the page you wish your visitors to access upon clicking on the image in the slideshow. If this tickbox is left blank the current window will be used to take your visitor to the page URL entered.

Now go back to REPEAT STEPS above & carry out these steps until all images are in slideshow.

We can now finalise the slideshow settings. This needs only be done once to complete the final part of the download & setup of slideshow from our My Design Tester page.

Ensure the Width tab is set to 300 as per image.

Ensure the Height tab is set to 300 as per image.

The rest of the boxes in this section can adjusted as per reuirements.

By selecting the Advanced settings tab you can increase or descrease the timescale for the display of each slide.

The slide delay & animation speeds – set at 7000 & 1600 below are measured in milliseconds (1/1000 of a second)

Simply multiply by the number of second you wish the slide to be displayed for and enter into slide delay (1 second = entry of 1000)

Carry out above steps for Slide Delay & Animation speed – length of time to physically change the slide to the next -once the transition to the next slide begins.

Increaing or decreasing this value will slow down or speed up the image change..

– please experiment to choose your requirments.

To test the slideshow simply click on the Select & Preview button at the top of the slideshow list. This will display a lightbox to run your slideshow for testing purposes. You can change values & test results s many times as you wish.

Once you are happy with your sildeshow press the blue Save button & your slideshow will be ready to add to your sidebar widgets.

To add the slideshow to the sidebar widgets on your website hover the cursor over the Appearance tab on the left hand side of the WordPress Dashboard page then select the Widgets option.

Drag & drop the Mega Slider box and place under Sidebar section at place of your choosing.

We have almost finished and can soon have a cuppa. The last part is not only the easiest but can also be considered to be the quickest.

This is so fast & so simple you don’t have to do it because it it already done. As you place your Meta Slider box into where your want it in the sidebar section above it will be saved automatically.

The last thing to do now is check your website & put the kettle on.
