What is IM all about?
Is IM all about making a quick buck or is it about developing a good product or marketing a product that you actually know something about that will help your customers?
I did some research just to see what other internet marketers are doing and joined their so called " Download the latest free this and that" and found very little really useful information on all sorts of subjects.Which makes me think if you buy their products - How usefull will that be to you anyway.
You get bombarded by their emails everyday with some amazing offering "For FREE" only to find nothing of real value in exchange for your email address. I just find it very difficult to see the value in what they are doing apart from wasting your time. Are these people successful by creating the hype and build huge mailing lists and have a small percentage of sales from these lists.
In my experience you only make money long term if you offer something of real value and build a customer base that trust you and your products, like WA for instance.
The internet seems to be littered with these people out to make a quick buck. I just wonder how well they really do or is it just hype.

Joan is correct on the approach. I think the subjects you bring up get planted in the back of your mind. If you see them over and over you begin to believe them. Television commercials are a perfect example of this. With their constant repetition you will believe it to be true whether it's an ad for a political campaign or that McDonalds' has the best dollar menu. I think this is where a lot of people get discouraged here. It takes hard work and ambition to make this work. While that $500 a day is still ringing in the back of your mind from all the junk mail you get. With only 15 minutes of work a day? Hah! NO way. Most of us got an education during our childhood. It didn't happen overnight though. It took 12 years. I don't think it will take that long here but you must apply yourself just like you studied for those finals at the end of the year.
Know what you mean. When you start any business, you start with an idea of something you know a lot about, for which there is a demand, that will benefit other people. Something in which you can be competitive. Might be an area where you have no real competition. Although, if you're successful, you'll get competition fast, you just have to be ahead of the competition. So you turn that into a business and offer as much value to your customers as you can. IM shouldn't be different.
I could not agree more. I think the times I have clicked on an affiliate link have been mostly through the blog article of someone knowledgeable explaining the product and helping me understand the value of one thing over another. Reviews, comparisons, product update news, that kind of thing. You're absolutely right--informative, helpful content is the way to go.

Thanks for the comments. I think we must just concentrate on what will work for us and forget about the hype. The saying you get out what you put in rings true in most areas of life.
