Protect Your Wordpress Sites
I just thought I'd bring some awareness on protecting your wordpress sites from being invaded.
Some of you may already be doing this but just a headsup in anycase.

I was a bit disappointed in Matt Cutts article. I guess he assumes everyone has static IP address. If you're working at home that's probably not the case and if you follow his advise you just locked yourself out of your WP admin panel next time you reboot your computer. If you read down the comments, they confirm what I'm saying but you have to understand the difference between dynamic and static. Typical techies, try to fix one thing and break another; then spend more time trying to figure out workarounds for the thing you broke. The second link at least acknowledges the problem. The average WP user here in WA should NOT attempt Matt's first technique. Other techniques are "interesting" but should only be done by someone comfortable with PHP code that knows how to get in the backdoor when they goof it up.

Ok. Yeah I guess your right thinking about it. I totally forgot about the newer members to wordpress. All allot of users are so clued up. I guess the safer work around is to use a security plugin instead of taking the steps.
