Hi Behealthy! I followed the steps above and comments are still not enabled. I'm assuming I selected a theme that does not have themes in the pages section. Do you recommend I change my theme?

i meant comments not themes

My apologies for the late reply Kollin. Was not intentional at all. I'll make the assumption you have the issue sorted? Anything else you need help on?

Thank you. Just what I was looking for.

Thank you. :)

Thanks Behealthy...your step by step is good!! I have the comment column in my pages now.

The settings in WordPress are fine. The problem is when the theme does not allow comments on a Page.

For example, try this and see if you can put comments on a Page with the Lightning Theme. This is the theme that was giving someone a problem in chat earlier. A few of us tried it and it doesn't work (unless you change the theme files directly, which isn't recommended.)

Hi Gary. Yes I visited the support section on Wordpress for this theme and someone else has pointed out this issue. By default comments on pages are not enabled on a lot of themes and it's not obvious how to enable it so I decided to let others know.

I wouldn't have thought a Wordpress theme would be void of a comments section...It's one of the major components!

Ok, cool. It's frustrating that when someone is asking for help with this theme, and they are doing everything they should be doing in WordPress, that the comments don't appear. I agree that comments shouldn't be on all pages, but they should be optional, and WP should leave it up to the users/authors/bloggers to decide how they want to interract with their audience.
