My progression so far on the digital world

Hello everyone,

I would like to share here my journey within the online business (well, better said, within the online world by now). I'm currently doing the second part of Lesson 2.

The niche I chose is natural skincare, as I'm quite passionate about this topic. I think something I liked about setting up my website was choosing the design, as with so many templates available, I found a couple of them that I really liked and that I thought could "blend" really well with my niche. I also enjoyed the task of searching and choosing imagery.

What I found challenging was writing my first post. It took me some time, as English is not my first language, and, although I had some ideas in mind, I felt stuck and I didn't know how to start. Eventually, it took me hours to finish it, because as we know, a post must have around 1000 words.

To me, the most difficult thing is indeed writing content. It's hard for me to put the right words together in a way that the paragraphs flow and progress to make the post interesting and engaging. Sometimes, I just don't know what to talk about. All your articles cannot be about reviewing products.

All in a all, I must say that, in a short peiod of time, I've learnt a lot. However, I also feel I need to be honest. I've realised that being successful online takes a lot of time and effort. And yes, I'm willing to invest all that time and effort, and I don't expect to make any money in the first months. But if after one year, I'm making little or no income at all, I'm not going to continue. In order to be able to have a sustainable full time passive income, the kind of amount with which you can quit your job, you need huge amounts of traffic into your website. But not only that. Those people need to click into the link of the product you are promoting, and buy them consistently (just clicking into the link doesn't generate revenue). It also has to be in a high amount, because the comission for some brands is not very high. What happnens if you run out of ideas?

In the next 3 moths, I will keep practising my writing and will be testing different kinds of posts. In 6 motnhs, I hope to be able to see a considerale traffic rate linked to my website.

This post wasn't created to be negative. I'm just expressing my current honest opinion.

Thanks,

Andrea

I think you write very well Andrea. Only one misspelled word. Learned not learnt. Ironically I misspelled misspell, but luckily I have Grammarly, a free grammar and spell checker app/extension on my chrome browser. Just put Grammarly into a search on your favorite browser to go to the site and get it if you are interested.

Hi Teri. Thank you for your comment. Writing is my biggest concern, but a few people have read the articles on my website, and they all think they sound good. I think that both learned and learnt are correct? Is not that one is used more in the UK, and the other one in the US? I also have Grammarly on my computer. It’s really useful.

The more you write the easier it becomes, I'm also just 4monts in here, first and second month was tough, still learning though but recently I end up writing 1500 words or more without even realizing it.
My advice is to be consistent with development, adaptive to change and be open to new opportunities here and in the outside world.
Wishing you all the best.

Hello. Thanks for your comment. I agree with you that the first and second months are hard. As the previos comment said, practice will make it easier and it eventually come fluently.
Wishing you great success.

Andrea

Hi there Andrea, you are off to a great start and I think most of us struggle with the writing when we first start and it can seem a little overwhelming to produce 1000 words, but after a while and some practice you will find it does get easier and enjoyable' Keep up the good work and all the best, Cass

Hi Cass. Thank you for your comment. I think, as you said, that I started pretty well. To be honest, I like how my website looks and I’m overall pleased with my work. Just in terms of writing, I’ve been stuck for some moments, and that caused me to feel frustrated. But as you say, practise will make it to come naturally.
Wishing you great success.

Andrea

Great attitude:):)

Hi, Andrea, I think, your English is quite fluent, everything you are writing is very understandable, you just need to practice to write articles, as many you can, this is the only way to be able to get traffic, some people will write every day, some others two or three times a week, set a goal, stay motivated, be patient and confident.
Happy holidays to you.
Jacqueline

Hi Jackie. Thank you for your comment. I guess practice will definitely help. I need to sit down and start writing whatever comes from my mind. I think that’s the difficult point and where lots of us get stuck, but I will have more time during the holiday season.

Merry Christmas to you.

Andrea
