Amazon links and how they vary from country to country to get commision
I am sure you people would be interested to know if you will receive commission when a "XYZ country" customer who visits your site clicks on "Amazon.abc" (abc - Country) Affiliate link to place an order. If the order is successfully delivered to customer you will receive commission on it.
Suppose for example just consider Amazon UK & Amazon USA
You will receive commission when a USA customer who visits your site clicks on Amazon.co.uk affiliate link to place an order. If the order is successfully delivered to customer you will receive commission on it.
Now actually if Amazon.co.uk does not ship products outside UK. So most of the US customers will not be placing orders through Amazon.co.UK. and then you will not receive the commission.
For this, you'll need to post Affiliate links that redirect US customers to Amazon.com website. You can post Amazon.com website Affiliate links by creating an account with Amazon.com website.
Here we have to note that Amazon.co.UK and Amazon.COM websites operate independently and both of them have different Affiliate Programs.
Links that are generated through Amazon.co.UK Affiliate account will work for only UK customers.
For US customers, you need to create a separate account with Amazon.com Affiliate program and then post those links on your website.
At this time, the Associates program for Amazon.in, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.jp, Amazon.ca, Amazon.it, Amazon.es and Amazon.com sites are completely separate. Each site requires a separate application, and you will have a different ID for each.
In addition, links formatted for one program will not be able to earn you commission on other sites.

Awesome info, but I guess it means I need to use a plugin to get the links to change automatically for each region so that I can earn for any customer?

This is great info, thanks so much for sharing. I think I understand now. Was a little unsure about the shipping thing. Are u saying that Amazon.UK does NOT ship outside of the UK? Do any of the Amazon sites ship worldwide?
