Finally got up at 6am!

WHY AM I TIRED ALL THE TIME?!

It's summer. The days of sleeping in...

That's how it used to be, I mean.

But I started feeling groggy all day and just tired. Which was weird at first because I thought I was just getting "enough" sleep. I tried to think back on a time when I would wake up with a clear mind and feel refreshed.

It brought me back to a time in my teenage life when me and my brothers would get up at 6am and go run around the block together. Then we'd get home and make a morning smoothie. I felt refreshed all day. Not only that, sometimes I would start to get tired in the afternoon, but it had been long enough since I slept, that I could get a nap in and feel refreshed for the rest the day.

IDEAL SCHEDULE

I actually think that's the ideal schedule to be on because it has given me the best results. Get up early in the morning, accomplish your important tasks for the day, eat lunch, then take a quick nap. (Is an hour quick?). This is the time my body felt the most fresh and energetic. On rare occasions, I would get 1 1/2hr of sleep, and just listen to my body to see what it needed. It was almost like I got two morning "peak times" and would wake up feeling clear and ready to accomplish things again.

DEFINE YOUR MORNING AND NIGHT

Recently, I was inspired by a book called "The Morning Sidekick Journal". It gives you prompts to define your ideal morning and night. I will do more of a review of this journal after using it for a while longer, but this is the best journal I have seen to help define your mornings.

WHY GET UP EARLY?

You know, I've studied a lot of successful people these last few years. Not one said that they get up at 9 or 10am and start their day on their phone.

Getting up early gives us "bonus time". Especially if you're a parent. This will be the only time in the day that I can finish thoughts uninterrupted. That's what it seems like anyways.

In an earlier post, I wrote about how listening to soft music, when trying to focus can help draw your mind in to be able to focus. That is true. But there is something about the silence and peace the morning brings, before the world wakes up.

Your mind is more sharp in the mornings and things seems to flow more easily.

HERE'S TO MANY MORE EARLY MORNINGS TO HELP BUILD YOUR DREAMS

P.s. I'd like to announce that I finished an entire blog post without a single interruption (high five all you fellow moms out there.) And not a single kid woke up for this hour (I got a shower, made eggs and toast for breakfast, and got my thoughts going in my blog post for the day.)

*Gets on stage to bow* Thank you. Thank you.

Congratulations! An hour without disturbance is luxury. I am a morning person, but my husband is a night person. So for me a 5am till 9pm day is perfect, whereas for him a 10-11am To midnight-1am would be perfect for him! I also do tend to have an afternoon nap, but I think that is an exhausted mum mind thing šŸ¤£

It is so lovely getting to 10am and everything has been achieved, they are the best days! I guess just make your day work best for you, if your flow is late at night, go with it xx

Thatā€™s a great goal! To accomplish my to do list by 10am. Thank you for all of your pointers. šŸ’ž

some days, I am still trying to achieve a goal at 11pm though lol. When you work, and have children, you just have to roll with it, and be grateful for those pockets of free time (that now I'm in WA are not free lol) xx

I have never been a morning person. I really want to be. I also don't like to go to bed at night. I usually in the bed no later than midnight. I really do hate it. I envy anyone who is a morning person and loves it. I will say the times I have gotten up in the morning I enjoyed the quietness it was awesome. Nothing or nobody moving but you.

I enjoyed your post. Thank you. Warm Regards.

You know, I have not been a morning person for over ten years (and even back then I forced it in my teenage years.) And honestly, I've been jealous of those natural morning people too.

But I am hoping that changes.

The book called "The morning sidekick journal" tells you that the secret to getting up early is in your night routine.

I cannot wait to be a morning person because I know what it can do for my life.

Good luck with your success, my friend.
