Create your WHY

You know, this online stuff is tough.

I'm realizing that I need to find my 'WHY'. Every one does.

Why stay up late and work on my website when I might not see results for months or even years?

Why do hours and hours of training online to learn things I have no clue about?

Why choose to work on my website instead of going out with friends?

When you hear that you can create income online, to many, it seems like a dream. It certainly did to me. I'm a mom with a special needs daughter, who needs to be at home, but I also still have other kids and bills to pay.

What if there was a way I could stay with her at home and not have to struggle financially? At first, it all seemed too good to be true. I got into daycare and watched other neighborhood kids to be able to stay home. Up to this point, I've been able to make ends meet, but is this it?

What about all my good ideas for blogging and health and even music?

I've researched this stuff for ..... years.... (I know. I know. Action is where it's at. Brain fog is real when you have a special needs kid, ya'll.)

I kind of did this or that and earned a few dollars here or there.

But I never really got into it.

I'm realizing that I have to find my 'why'.

Last month, I really struggled finanically. There were a few issues with clients and the end result was that I couldn't pay my bills. Wow that stings to say. I remember those days very well.

I used to work full time as a TA in elementary school and I would bring in an average of $1500. My house payment was $1000. So I had $500 to spend on utilities, food, clothes, and other life needs. It didn't feel good at all, and last month I got a fresh reminder of what that felt like.

I shook my head and thought, "I have GOT to get another source of income coming in. I know it's possible. I need something strong enough to keep me going even when I don't feel like it."

WHAT IS MY WHY? WHY SHOULD I KEEP GOING?

My why is this:

When I wake up in the morning, I want to be able to freely spend time with my family.

When my kids have a school play, field trip, or awards assembly, I want to be able to clear up my schedule without a problem and go be there for my kid. When appointments come up for my daughter, I want to be able to freely go to them without putting out other parents whose kids I've promised to watch.

I want stability for my family. I don't want to worry if I'll have enough money for food. I'm tired of it. I want to pay my bills on time and not be worried there's not enough money at the end of the month.

I want time, energy, and mind space for things I know I'm meant to do in my life. Hobbies and desires come from within. I believe I am meant to do incredible things with my talents. Jim Rohn (an amazing motivational speaker) said that if you can get past the survival stage of life with money and move on to the next stage where you have more than enough, it opens up creativity and possibilities that wouldn't ever otherwise come. For me that will be music.

I've always been drawn to music and I want to create music to inspire others. Music has been my lifeline for years. I've taken years of lessons in music and I've always had things inside my soul that need to be shared with others.

These reasons along with many more are my 'WHY'. I'll refer back to this list and use it whenever I need a push to keep going.

It is so important to have something powerful to keep you going. Old habits, work, and life in general will always try to get in the way unless you define your reason to keep pushing.

Your 'WHY' is everything.

What's your 'WHY'?
