Be Who You Are
Are you stuck? Struggling with a mental road-block or slowed productivity?
You are not alone. I was quagmired for a couple weeks. Writing content for my website seemed like a chore. The task bored me. Content production ground to a screeching halt. I'd hit a content drought. My pipeline was like a dry river bed.
Here's why...
I wasn't being myself! Rather, I was trying to emulate my competition. My top 3 competitors' sites are mostly all variations of eachother. Heavy on product reviews. Each has similar content about many of the same products. Light on niche info. I mistakenly thought that I just had to do what they did, but better.
Not true. As a matter of fact, I suck at being like them...
But, I'm great at being me! That's what I'm capitalizing on now and the content is flowing like a river :) I'm "investigative" by nature. What makes something work the way it does? Why? How do you get the best results and who says so? Etc. So, I'm incorporating that approach to my niche into the website. And I think it will totally set me apart and add value.
So, if you've experienced a drop in content production due to a mental roadblock, ask yourself why? Are you trying to emulate someone else? Ask yourself what strengths you bring to the table? Use those and be who you are! The content will follow :)
Best wishes to everyone!
