Don’t Let Slow Progress Fool You
Hey WA fam, 👋
Just wanted to share a little piece of my journey with you (again) 😊.
If you’ve ever felt like giving up or wondered if this is really worth it, I hope this encourages you today.
🎯 A Dream Fueled by Purpose
When I joined WA, my goal was clear: quit my job, go back home, and become a full-time affiliate marketer and blogger. I upgraded to Premium even before the 7-day trial ended, excited to grab the $19/month deal and eager to chase success like the many members whose stories inspired me.
🚧 Reality Hit Hard
At first, I really thought I’d “make it” within a few months. But between a demanding full-time job and life happening, I made excuses, slowed down, and published content only when I could.
Still, I made some progress: got approved as an Amazon affiliate after 8 months, saw one of my posts rank on page one of three major search engines, and even got my first WA starter referral. But when my Amazon earnings barely hit $5/month, I laughed and thought, “Well, this isn’t quite the dream income I had in mind!”
📉 Breaks, Burnout, and Coming Back
I stepped away for months, no publishing, no logging in. But a glance at my Google Analytics pulled me back. Many of my posts were ranking well. Maybe, just maybe… this could still work.
After another break during the pandemic to care for my family, I returned again, wiser, more focused, and more determined to see it through.
📈 A Breakthrough at Last
From 2018 to early 2025, I had 44 starter referrals. None upgraded. I eventually stopped actively promoting WA and focused on the site I’m most passionate about.
Then two days ago, out of the blue, I got a notification. A referral finished their profile, created their business hub, and even posted their money goals. Shortly after, I received an email from Kyle and Carson: my first sale ever. Premium Plus Monthly. I hadn’t even updated my campaign message, it still said, “Hi {First Name},” 😅
Oh, and the funny part? I have no idea which of my sites the referral came from, I didn’t even use a tracking link. 😅
💡 The Bottom Line
So here’s what I’ve learned: slow progress is still progress. Your efforts are working, even when it feels like nothing’s happening.
If you’re thinking of quitting, don’t. You’ve come too far to stop now.

Thanks for sharing this—your story really hit home. I’ve had similar ups and downs, slow starts, and moments where I wondered if the effort was worth it. But like you said, small steps do matter. Glad you stuck with it—and congrats on your first Premium Plus referral! Here’s to more breakthroughs ahead.

Thank you so much, Mike. Your words really encouraged me! It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in the ups and downs. And hearing that you’ve had similar moments reminds me that this journey is shared, even when it feels quiet.
Yes to small steps! They may feel slow, but they really do add up. I’m truly grateful for your kind words and support, and I’m cheering you on as well.
Here’s to staying the course, growing through it, and celebrating many more breakthroughs together!
Hi Bob, thank you! 😊
It’s always encouraging to hear from someone with a similar journey.
Wishing you continued progress and breakthroughs—let’s keep going!
Thanks so much, Howard! I truly appreciate that. 😊
Just wanted to remind others (and myself!) that small wins still matter. Glad it encouraged you!
I have been dragging on the WA referrals for a bit now, even though one of my websites is focused on building an online business through several means, one being AM.
So yes, thanks for sharing! I am looking for a few referrals to pop up! 😁
I hear you, Howard!
It can feel like a long wait sometimes, especially when the effort doesn’t seem to match the results—yet.
But keep going! You never know when those seeds you’ve planted will start growing. I wasn’t expecting mine at all!
Rooting for your first upgrade to show up soon! 🚀
Thanks, Alice!
My last paid WA yearly commission was back two years ago. So, I'm due. The good thing is that all my eggs are not in one basket, so when some things are up, others may be down, but in the end, things even out.
You're very welcome, Howard! 😊
It sounds like you've created a strong and stable foundation by spreading your efforts across multiple streams, which is a wise strategy.
I really appreciate your perspective: when some things are down, others are up. That mindset is what helps us stay in the game for the long term.
Your next WA commission might be closer than you realize!
Hi Alysanna
You're post really did hit home. I find myself stuck from time to time and end up walking away for a few days.....but always come back. Thank You for the update on your progress. It really is encouraging!
Hi Shannon, thank you so much! 💛
I totally get that—I’ve had seasons like that too, where stepping back felt necessary. But like you, I always find my way back. I’m glad my update encouraged you.
Keep showing up—you’re not alone in this! 😊
