Do you want to Work at Home?

Yes I did and I was working at home for quite sometime before I joined Wealthy Affiliate.

Before Wealthy Affiliate I was working on projects that I knew like the back of my hand.

We have an open plan living area with the kitchen and dining/lounge all rolled into one L-shaped room.

My office was tucked into the corner of the L-Shape part of the room, sort of semi private, but not a lot.

This arrangement worked fine me and my family as distractions for me were not an issue and I was always available.

You know the sort of things, like the washing machine is dripping or the clock battery needs changing.

I was always available and willing to shift away from my work as I knew I could always catch up later.

But eventually my projects came to a natural finish and became unemployed work at home person.

Then there was a quick turn of events which culminated in me finding Wealthy Affiliate and soon signing up as a premium member with all the support of my family.

But I soon found out that working at home did not work at all.

I was focused into learning at Wealthy Affiliate, like being back at school, I had to learn to write again!

So I was like a fish out of water and the previously acceptable distractions were now becoming a hindrance.

I became unavailable to my family and they could not understand why, however much I explained the new working situation.

The office I had been working in for some time was now not suitable for learning and writing, I had to find a solution.

How could I change the situation, I had to think outside the box.

It just so happened that my wife suggested that we should clean out the garage as the weather was getting better.

Yet another job and distraction, I thought.

While I was cleaning out the garage an idea came to me.

Why not move my office to the garage! Silly idea?

But that's what I did, I cleared one side of the garage, chucking out loads of rubbish.

Moved in all my office in the space that I had cleared.

My family were a bit bemused and surprised at my drastic action, but it worked.

The family psychology towards my work changed immediately, they know now when I'm in the garage with the door closed, I am working.

When I am out of the garage, I'm available, just if I had come home from work.

So yes, do you want to work from home, yes I do, but for now I'm working with Wealthy Affiliate from within the garage.

My garage is a five minute wall from the beach, maybe one day I might...
