I have a website I don't want to work on anymore.
It's a beauty site and it just doesn't interest me. I think I chose the niche because it seemed easy when I was getting
DO NOT delete it because you may want to reuse it one day also so may have a few thing that are worth saving -
I did delete my first website and wish many times that I had not!!!

I have been fighting an urge to just hit delete similar to that feeling of wanting to spring clean a house but I won't.
You can consider using it is a test site for as long as you keep the domain name.
You can test themes and pugins there before you add them to your main website. You can save all of your pages and post content as Drafts, which means they will not be visible to visitors.
Once the domain expires and you decide not to renew it, then you can delete it. ~Jude

It's on a domain I own but I don't really think anyone would be interested in buying it. it probably has too much of me in it.
When you keep your articles, delete the website, can you offer those on Fiver or something? Or offer them for guest writing on other beauty websites? Just thinking out loud;)

Whatever you decide, explore at first all your opportunities, when you delete the site, it's gone forever

What other plans do you have in mind?
If you're thinking of putting up a website later on that would talk about Personal Dev't, Entrepreneurship, etc. and may one way or another relate to some of your 30 posts, don't.
You can indicate your old site as an Archive, thus, no longer updated (in About Me page) but you can link your old posts to your new posts in your new site.
Backlinking from an old site, especially if it already has been indexed, can be good to your new site.

I did all the work on it in 2015. It's just been sitting since then. I do have a site on self development and might be able to use some of the articles or backlinks I suppose. Thanks for that idea.

It seems a shame to delete all of this site with that many posts and all of those comments. I just wanted to let you know that you could just let it sit for awhile if you want. I had 3 sites that were moving along. I did not have but maybe 11 posts/pages, maybe a few more on several of my sites. I had to give them up for about 5 months due to having to move and also getting sick again. I did very little on them during that time. It did not seem to matter much as far as I can tell. I did not have any traffic though, so I don't know if you were getting traffic. They were all indexed. Now I have come back to them and have started working on them again. Just thought I would put that out there for you. Ultimately, it is your decision. I guess one of the problems will be whether you would have the passion to continue with the site. You have to at least have some desire to do it. I have one site I kind of feel the same way about, but I have spent tons of time on it, and have decided to continue with it. Good Luck whatever you decide.!
Yeah, I think you and everyone else who replied is right and I shouldn't delete it. I guess I just feel like my energy and focus are a bit all over the place and I would really like to simplify things a bit. I feel like I do a lot of work and get nowhere sometimes. I really like creating content but I hate mucking about with all the technical stuff and I'm terrible at self promotion.
But yes, I guess what is annoying me most about that site is that I do have a few ideas for it that could make it more relevant for me now, such as narrowing the focus to cruelty free/vegan friendly beauty products which would also refine it somewhat...and I guess the thought of yet another project is a bit much....maybe I just need a break ;) Too many things I want to do!

Alison, Are you getting any traffic? Are old items you shared on social media getting any hits? I haven't posted on my parrot site in months but CJ reports one or two impressions per day. Not sure if they are coming from Pinterest or an internet search.
You may want to keep your site alive for a good while yet even if not adding to it.

I have read that Amazon can post cheques to Australia? I wonder if this is current information and what are the fees?
