Social Media Plugins for Wordpress
There are two aspects to social media plugins.
Firstly, you want share buttons on your pages and posts so that people can share your content all over the place.
The second part is your follow buttons. Which ideally should be on every pages. These direct the view to follow your social media profile.
Some plugins do both and some will perform one of these functions. But having both these functions is pretty important on a website.
I have used a few different plugins for social media in the past. These were pretty good but I don't know whether I should try out some others. There are so many plugins available today that it is really confusing.
I know there are lots of paid ones out there but I strongly believe that the free ones will cover most of what you will need. Maybe if you have a well established site that makes a good income it would be worth investing in a paid one then.
So, let me have it WA community.... Which social media plugins do you use and why? Would you recommend them and are they free or paid. I'm hoping a theme of some really good ones will start to emerge from the comments.

oooooh! Totally following this post! I currently am using Ultimate Social Media - the free version. There is an upgrade option to Pro, but I haven't ventured down that road yet. I am open to changing though, as I am not really sold on the one I have....
I have used that too but I found it was too big and slowing my page speed down. I deleted it but in hindsight it was a good plug in.

Great question Alicia. I waited until I bought my new theme before deciding on this issue.
And then did you choose one?
Morning Alicia, love your smile. I went with Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons. They have over 200k active installs, update frequently(very important) and over 4k reviews with 5star ratings. They appear the best and just looking it over I think I made the right choice.
thanks, i haven't heard of them. sounds like they are worth a look. I will try them out.
