That indicates that my website is unsafe, but it isn't.

Hi Alicia,

You have a nice professional looking website, I love it. Great Job!!

I checked your site using windows no one had a green check mark.

I checked incognito and same no had the green check mark.

When I check chrome your website show in position #1 with a green check mark.

I had the same experience before, plus I had norton years ago. There is a couple of things I did.

When I cleared my chrome browser history it show my site did not have the green check mark,

I did contact site support they told me my site was fine.

I also went to norton who claim they own the green check mark.

But, you can check it for yourself for free there.

Here is where you check it. Just type your URL https://yourwebsite

https://safeweb.norton.com/

You can register with them, again it was free. Are just read up on it. Your choice.

https://safeweb.norton.com/help/site_owners

Just remember when you give them your email they are like a stalker. Just like Feochadan said. lol.

I hope this helps. Keep up the great work your doing and have a successful day.

Carl

Thank you so much! This was very helpful!

Your welcome glad I can help.

Looks ok to me..

Your site is coming up as secure when I access it.

If your site is hosted here, please reach out to site support

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

It is. I will, thank you!

I don't know who they've hired lately, but I'm getting exhausted with site support.

So I write them that I'm getting the gray symbol before my website in the search results, which indicates that my site isn't safe. I ask them how I can get the green check mark to indicate that it is safe.

They come back with a picture of my website and tell me my website is working fine.

??? That has nothing to do with site security showing up in search results.

Last time I contacted them all day over and over and ended up figuring out the issue myself. Such a waste of time.

Did you try it incognito? It might be worth a try.

Darlene

Yes, I can see the lock.

Thank you, I'll do that right now!

are you running norton security ...
if you are then you can get the green tick by adding the security code from norton...
i did it on a site a few years ago .. it is similar to adding the code snippet from google analytics...

Unfortunately, I'm not running Norton Security. :(

that is a security shield from norton or kapersky to say they have checked the site as safe...
have you ever run or had norton on your machine...you never get rid of all of it...it maybe one of your addons on your browser...
or your antivirus or security on your router...

Norton is like a stalker that just won’t go away.

Darlene

note there is no padlock on my search engine..so it is only related to your computer and some software you are running to check the security of sites...

Ok, thank you so much for checking on that for me!

Hi!

Did you get approved? how did you solved the issue?

Hi,

I've had a look over your site.

Firstly, I've never been a fan of placing an affiliate disclosure in the footer.

I know many webmasters do it, but I would rather have it highly visible, and as a header menu option.

However, I'm not finding a financial disclaimer on your site.

Apologies if there is one, but I'm not seeing it.

Do you have one?

All finance-based websites should include a disclaimer, something along the lines of:

"The information on our website is not a substitute for professional financial services. Therefore, we are not responsible for the actions users take based on our content."

I just made that up of the top of my head, so you'll probably want to "pimp" it a bit more, LOL.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm still looking over your site now.

Will let you know if I notice anything else.

Partha

All I have is the Affiliate Disclaimer on my sites, I guess I’d better listen up too!

WA Affiliate Program
Updated

Hi everyone,

I have a personal finance website. I'm looking to create a website for promoting WA by reviewing it and other programs. Since making money online is part of

Subdomains should be related to the initial domain. Affiliate marketing is a way to make money, but not really related to personal finance.

Just my 2 cents.

I would recommend another domain. You can always link the 2 domains with back links when appropriate.

Alex

It seems to be best to have two websites.
Finance is about finance and affiliate marketing is about affiliate marketing.
This will give you the most keyword growth and rank potential.
You can by all means link the two together.

I would recommend creating a new website and picking a new domain instead of using subdomains.

Thank you!

You would be better creating a new website as personal finance has very little to do with affiliate marketing, you need to target the right people or it will not work so a new website would be able to be more targeted

Thanks, I appreciate the response. That's what I'll do!

I would go with entirely a new website vs a subdomain, my understanding is two separate niches.

ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

Thank you so much! Very helpful!

Hi Alicia
For someone who says "I am not tech savvy at all" you've already achieved a great deal! I like the look for your site!
Your site does have a footer ... perhaps customising is limited?
What exactly is the theme you are using?
:-)
Richard

Hi Richard,

There is no footer and it says in that one doesn't come with this theme (there is a copyright thing at the bottom of the page but no footer).

The Theme is SimpleBasics.

Having looked at your site before making comment, there is a footer which contains a copyright notice. That of course does not mean that you have access to it via your theme.
:-)
Richard

I guess I don't get access to it then because it says right in the backend that this theme doesn't come with a footer, so I just assumed the copyright thing isn't called a footer, but either way, I can't do anything down there which stinks.

Hi Alicia
Your theme does allow you to add to, and amend the existing footer.
If you go to Customise / Widgets ... you'll find it.
If you need more help ... just ask.
:-)
Richard

for the table of contents then maybe watch richardgb's training
it is worth going ot the block editor if you haven't already... or using easy table of contents plugin, but only when your posts exceed 1500 or 2000 words...
in your conclusions i would highlight the words of whether you recommend or not and maybe colour them green or red or amber....
but the layout, i agree with Diane, it is clean and uncluttered....
you have analytics installed, via monster insights, but at least it is there...
it looks like you have the all in one seo plugin installed...
don't add another seo plugin unless you want to change it....
with the seo framework it is a pain to import the last meta data...
i would stick with all in one if you like it...
but themes i would recommend are blocksy or kadence....
and if you go to the block editor add kadence blocks and generateblocks plugins to add very useful blocks...
i wish you well on your journey..
phil
try the other themes on a test site first to have a play with them ...copy some of your content across to have something to use to test it, but don't activate the seo plugin...
and if you can add a featured image to your posts....

Before you change your theme - is free your free sitesubix.com website being used? If not use it to try some themes. Also you can do a google search "your theme name + demo{". Usually you can find help your theme name documentation or Youtube has help in setting up a theme too. We use Astra. It has a lot of bells and whistles and may be hard to learn. BUT we didn't have technical background and decided this is part of setting up our online business and we spent time watching videos till be learned how to make changes. Yourtube videos are most helpful for theme setup and customization.

Here is Kyles video for setting up SEO Framework. Table of Contents plugins can be found by going to plugins Add new plugin Table of content. install and activate.(sometimes table of contents can do things that you are not expecting.)
.

Hi - we are not allowed to offer paid services to other members, but plenty of people will be willing to help for free. Abie has started you off with some suggestions.

To be honest, I like the look of your site as it is. It is clean and tidy, uncluttered and easy to navigate. The focus should always be on your content.

Thanks, I didn't know. I just know people's time is valuable. Everyone has been so helpful with their comments.

And don't forget you have a mentor, Tim, who is one of the most successful members here. I am sure he will be happy to help, you can send him a private message at any time.

I didn't even know I had a mentor. lol That's great to know!

Hi

To change your theme, here is what to do.

You may go to Appearance > Themes and add new.

Input what you are looking for, install and activate.

Your content will be left intact, you may lose out on CSS styles and social media icons if that, however with a bit of tweaking and you are done.

We always recommend you leaving a back up theme, you may od with the Twenty TwentOne.

Hope this helps
